NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM SEEKING PHOTOS FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC SALUTES TO PARNELLI JONES & KENNY SCHRADER
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (June 9, 2012) – The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum is currently arranging two photographic exhibitions, one saluting National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Parnelli Jones and the other honoring open-wheel and stock car racing veteran Kenny Schrader. Twelve photos will be selected for each exhibition from amateur and professional photographers and they will be matted and framed for the five-month exhibition, which will begin August 1, in the non-profit museum inKnoxville.
According to museum curator Tom Schmeh, “Both Parnelli and Kenny are great supporters of, and ambassadors for, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum and both have had incredibly diverse careers in auto racing. We want the twelve photos of each to reflect that diversity, with some emphasis on their sprint car racing exploits. With Kenny racing and winning last night in a modified stock car inLima,Ohio, I know photos of him will be readily available. I hope and trust that there are an equal number of photos available, in both quantity and quality, of Parnelli Jones, who retired as a driver in 1974.”
Photographers that have taken a unique and favorite photograph involving either driver in any type of racing scenario and would like to submit it for consideration are urged to send it to Tom Schmeh, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum,One Sprint Capital Place, P.O. Box 542,Knoxville,Iowa50138. The photo will become property of the museum and will never be used for commercial gain unless specific approval is given for such, nor will it ever be used without proper photo credit given. Only one photographic entry per photographer per exhibition will be considered. It should be accompanied by name of photographer, identification of subject material, and date and location that the photo was taken.
Those seeking further information on the twin photographic exhibitions honoring Parnelli Jones and Kenny Schrader are urged to contact museum curator Tom Schmeh at 641-842-6176 or via e-mail at tschmeh@sprintcarhof.com.
