New Factory Point Leader Brandon Waters To Lead Close Midway Racing Action
LEBANON, MO (May 29, 2012) – The racing action will be back in swing Saturday Night at the Midway Speedway in Lebanon as a new Factory Stock point leader prepares for first feature win.
Following last weekends action,the very competitive Factory Stock class sees yet another new leader on top of the standings as Brandon Waters has rode consistant finishes to lead the pack.
Waters a 2-time Street Stock points runner-up will check-in for Saturday Night action looking for his first win and will try to pad his current point lead.
Waters takes over the lead from Lebanon’s Brian Schutt by 17 points as former track champion Tim Petty has clawed back up to third place only 24 out of the top spot.
The close racing and different winners so far have kept things tight so far.Another former champion Bob Gustin holds the 4th place as last weeks winner Mark Simon holds the number 5 spot. In the regular points events 4 different winners out of 6 events have provided great racing action.
The B-Modifieds ran last week for extra money and were awarded bonus points so the standings stayed close as Ted Ballinger still maintains his 51 point lead over both Cody Nivens and Bill Schaar while brother Tim Ballinger and DeWayne Hobbs complete the top 5 not very far behind.6 different winners out of 6 regular races have crossed the finish line keeping things interesting.
The Pure Stocks are always providing excitement each week and Lebanon’s Rob White takes a 17 point lead over Matt Young into this weeks event.White has captured 4 wins while defending champion Young is setting the same pace as last season by running solid finishes before he grabbed the lead. The Alexstates family of Jim and Bo along with rookie Caleb Starnes finishes out the top 5. Young has 2 wins and Joe Francis drove his wifes car to the other win.
Sam Petty has had a banner season so far by capturing 5 out of 7 feature wins but Lebanon’s Travis Hill is a solis second place only 24 points behind with alot of racing still left in the season.Rookie driver Bobby Pearce has moved into third place and has 1 win in his first season of racing.Jamie Petty and a fast moving Mark Davis complete the top 5.
Mark Simon has drove his Station wagon to 6 out of 7 regular feature wins along with a 74 point lead over defending champion Joe Francis.The battle for second is close as Francis has lady driver Karla Lampe and rookie Brandon Henderson right on his bumper as Matt Darnell completes the top 5.
Grandstand gates open at 5PM with hotlaps srarting at 6:40 and racing at 7:30.Action features Factory Stocks,B-Modifieds,Pure Stocks,Midwest Modifieds and Street Stocks.Grandstand admission is only $10 for Adults while kids 11-15 are $5 and 10 and under Free.
