Night 2 of MLRA Spring Nationals to start one hour earlier with wet weather threat

| April 23, 2022

WHEATLAND, MO. (April 22, 2022) – Saturday night’s portion of the 9th annual Pitts Homes MLRA Spring Nationals will start one hour earlier than scheduled due to the threat of thunderstorms moving into the area late in the evening.

Pit and spectator gates will now open at open at 3 p.m. on Saturday with hot laps at 5:30 and opening ceremonies at 6:05.

“With a pretty good certainty, according to multiple weather forecasts, rain is expected to move in late in the evening and moving the action one hour earlier will help us increase the chance of getting the action in,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said.

Winner of Saturday’s MLRA feature winner will earn $7,000.

Joining the MLRA Late Models on the program will be the Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds, along with the O’Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars and Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods. The USRA Modifieds will be chasing a $1,000-to-win payday with the USRA Stock Cars and the USRA B-Mods feature winners earning $750.

This weekend will be for track points and USRA national points for the Modifieds, B-Mods and Stock Cars. Lucas Oil Speedway’s Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 30, with the four weekly classes – Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, O’Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars, Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods and Hermitage Lumber Late Models – in action.
