Points Action Hotter Than Weather At Springfield As Facebook Family Special Offered Saturday Night
SPRINGFIELD, MO (July 5, 2012) – Going into this Saturday’s Transport Graphics Championship Chase, the point battles at the “Quick Quarter” of the Springfield Raceway are even hotter than the weather can produce as the drivers prepare for round number 11 of the chase.
For this Saturday’s Events the Speedway is offering a special Facebook Family package deal.
Go to WWW.SpringfieldRaceway.Com and connect to the facebook link, get into the like logo, and then accept the special offer for this weeks action and special promotion. By accepting it, 2 Adults and 2 Kids( ages 6-15) can get in for only $20. That is a huge savings for a family of 4. Normally the cost would be $34 fro the family so a $14 savings awaits everyone for action at the “Quick Quarter”.
Action features the High-Horsepower of the Budweiser USRA Modifieds, Reliable Chevrolet USRA B Modifieds, Casey’s General Stores Midwest Modz, Wheeler Metals Legends and Young Lions, Pepsi Pure Stocks and the Williams Restoration Street Stocks. Grandstand Gates open at 5:30 with hot laps slated to start around 6:30 and racing action to start at 7:30PM Sharp.
Going into this Saturday’s Action, Carthage driver and 5 time champion Jackie Dalton holds a slim 30 point lead over Webb City’s Mitch Keeter while Joplin’s John Yeoman sets a solid third place spot only 56 points out of the lead in the USRA Modifieds. Dalton was barely able to keep Yeoman at bay last Saturday Night as Yeoman is looking for his first win of the season Both Dalton and Keeter have recorded 3 wins along with Bobby Pearish as several of the drivers are getting closer to the winners circle including Yeoman, Rob Muilenburg, Robbie Bryant, Jerry Lankton and a host of others as drivers are preparing to chase the valuable USRA track and National points.
Webb City’s Scott Drake still owns the number 1 spot in the USRA B Modifieds as last weeks winner Jon Yeoman Jr. has moved into the number 2 spot in the standings. Drake still leads the USRA National B Modified standings with his GM Performance 602 Crate motor. Yeoman broke a 2 year winless streak last Saturday with the win as Mike Hailmann drops to third place. The battle behind Drake is very tight as the new drivers in this class are starting to move forward.
Joplin’s Justin Comer leads the Legend Car standings with a slim 22 point margin over veteran Wayne Johnston. Johnston pulled off a beautiful late race move last week to grab the victory as this class week after week keep fans wondering who is going to take the win. Early season point leader Mike Hailmann was absent last week and falls to third place while Billy “The Kid” Cottrill and another Youngster Caleb McDugle battle for position. Strong runs last week by Tyler Horton, Park Jones and Jay Reynolds just add to the talent in this class. Defending Midwest Modz Champion Trevor Drake of Webb City owns a 46 point advantage over Rusty Forrest and is coming off a big win in last weeks Rob Burgess Memorial. Forrest gave the 4th generation driver all he could handle and strong finishes by Taylor Moore, Matthew Thulin and Todd McGregor have them looking for a win this weekend.
Defending Pure Stock Champion Jack Hamer of Ava found himself back in victory lane and only 21 points behind second season driver Brett Testerman of Miami, Oklahoma. A wild feature in the Pures really shuffled the current standings. The Pures provide the full-bodied stock car action for those that can relate to their favorite makes of cars.
Ava’s Rex Sawyer found himself into the winner’s circle again by pulling off a late race charge after spinning around early in the feature. Sawyer has become a strong runner in the Street Stock Class adding to point leader Jim Reid of Springfield, Wayne Morris of Miami, Springfield’s Shawn Schmidt and consistent driver Wayne Bysor along with others. Reid only owns a 19 point lead over Morris and a big field of drivers here could really shake things up.
The Young Lions Legend Class saw a new winner in strong form last Saturday night. Joplin’s Graysn Cox pulled off the winning pass late in the feature over Kylan Garner of Sarcoxie. Nixa’s Wesley Smith still maintains the point lead, but these kids are really showing the fans how much talent they have.
Special Events coming soon to the Springfield Raceway include the Summer Perry Memorial on July 21st featuring Midgets in a special appearance to the Speedway, USRA Modifieds and USRA B Modifieds, Legends, Midwest Modz and Pure Stocks in a Transport Graphics Points event. The Perry Family ran the Springfield Raceway several season ago and Summer was a former area Speedway Queen. She was a teacher in the Ozarks and lost her life in a car wreck.
Coming July 28th the 1st Annual Casey’s General stores Summer Sizzler with the MLRA and MARS Super Late models battling again on the quarter-mile high banked dirt oval.
