Relay for Life Pink Night this Saturday at Independence
INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – Pink will be the color of choice this weekend at Independence Motor Speedway. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to wear pink to the races Saturday, June 1, to help promote cancer awareness during Relay for Life Pink Night at the speedway.
The event, which is held annually on the first Saturday in June, assists the area Relay for Life chapter in raising funds to fight cancer. Local representatives will be on-hand to sell merchandise and raise money to support the cause.
In addition, a handful of drivers will make their way through the grandstands during intermission to pass their helmets and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Gates open at 4 p.m. June 1, with hot laps at 6 and racing to follow. Adult grandstand admission is $10, seniors $8 and students 12-17 years of age $7. Kids 11 and under will be admitted free if accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $25.
