Safe Trick Or Treat For Breast Cancer Awareness Racing Event October 27th At Springfield Raceway
SPRINGFIELD, MO (October 16, 2012) – The next event on the 2012 action packed schedule for the “Quick-Quarter” of the Springfield Raceway is set for Saturday October 27 as the Speedway will be hosting a Safe Trick Or Treat For Breast Cancer Awareness as all of the regular classes will be competing along with the Petran Motorsports Missouri State Championships for the Legends.
Several race teams and local businesses will be setting-up tables to allow the kids 16 and under a fun and safe trick or treat night in addition to the action packed race card during the intermission break. There will be drawings all night long for the kids as the grand prizes will be a Boys and Girls Bike giveaway to the best costume for each. The Bikes are sponsored by Race Bros.Farm And Home Supply along with Hoffman Race Cars and Female Pure Stock Driver Elizabeth Jolley Racing of Billings has donated $100 to be given away. Kids will be given tickets for the drawings, and can win more than once as tickets will be put back in the drawings.
This is the 2nd annual Boogerman Trick Or Treat Event hosted by the Speedway and part of the proceeds will go towards the Breast Cancer Foundation Of The Ozarks. This is a non-profit organization started 12 years ago to help keep everyone aware of the signs, preventiveness, and information about Breast Cancer. With October being tabbed as Breast Cancer Awareness month, several race teams and drivers have jumped aboard Nation Wide with special paint schemes on their cars. Legend Missouri National event sponsor Petran Motorsports has announced they will be making a donation in the memory of Merribel Petran that night also.
Action will include the A Modifieds in a $500 to win, $100 to start feature, B Modifieds,Midwest Modz, Street Stocks, Area Pure Stocks, Young Lion Legends and the Missouri State Championship for the Legends with an extra $200 and beautiful trophy going to the winner of this highly competitive and always exciting class.
Added in to the fun festive night will be the popular Spectator Drags as you can see just how bad your vehicle is on the racy “Quick-Quarter” in a 1 lap one on one competition with the winner taking home $100 and second place $50. no entry fee, just must have a grandstand ticket and get registered at the track.
Grandstand Gates open at 3PM while hot laps start at 4PM and Racing action at 5PM. Adult Grandstand Admission is only $12 while kids 16 and under in costume will be admitted Free.
The Pit Gates will open at 1:30 while drivers meeting will be held at 3:40 and draw cut-off is 4:15. Pit passes are only $25. Open draw for all classes with the top 8 in passing points for the Legends to redraw.
