Spring Fling specials start season at Algona and I-35

ALGONA, Iowa (Feb 28, 2013) – Algona Raceway and I-35 Speedway get the new season started with Spring Fling events April 6 and 7.

IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds run for $1,000 to win in 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers both Saturday and Sunday.

Top prize for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars is $750 while first place money for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks is $500.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. for Saturday’s draw-redraw show at Algona. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.

On Sunday, gates at Mason City open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. Racing follows 6 p.m. hot laps.

There is no entry fee either night. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12, with five and under free.
