Springfield Announces Phillips Memorial Make-Up Date October 13th
SPRINGFIELD, MO (Sept 17, 2012) – Officials from the MLRA/MARS and Springfield Raceway have announced the make-up date for the 12th Annual Larry Phillips Memorial presented by Joplin’s Home Pro with Saturday October 13th being the make-up date.
This scheduled 40 lap feature will place the MLRA and MARS Super Late Models doing battle at the “Quick-Quarter” to help honor the 5 time Springfield Legend and Nascar Weekly Racing Series National Champion in what is becoming a can’t miss event in the Ozarks.
For the second straight season, the MARS Championship will be decided in Springfield as the MLRA drivers get 1 final race to position themselves in the standing before the season finale at Lakeside the following week.
The top Late Model regional drivers are expected to be on hand including MARS point leader Jesse Stovall (The last LM feature winner at Springfield in July), defending event winner and MLRA point leader John Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska, Tony Jackson Jr., MLRA rookie point leader Mark Dotson, Brandon Morton, 3 time event winner Terry Phillips, Justin Asplin, former Turkey classic winners Justin Wells, Ken Essary and many more. This race will award UMP National Points also.
Support classes will be USRA Modifieds (National points awarded), B-Modifieds, Midwest Modz, Pure Stocks, Legends, Young Lions, and Street Stocks with hot laps slated to start at 5PM and racing at 6PM.
Grandstand Admission will be $20 for Adults while kids prices remain only $5 for 6-12 and under 6 Free while pit passes will be $35.
