Springfield Preview for Reliable Chevrolet B-Mod Special As Point Races Are Close

SPRINGFIELD, MO (May 29, 2012) – Exciting racing action gets back into gear Saturday Night June 2nd at the “Quick-Quarter” of the Springfield Raceway with the running of the 3rd annual Reliable Chevrolet $500 to win B-Modified special plus a full show of Transport Graphics Chase For The Championship.

This event is slated to high-light the already exciting race program held every Saturday night at Springfield on the Quarter-Mile high-banked Dirt Oval.

The B-Modifieds will not only be competing for USRA track and National points,but also the winners share of $500 to win the feature while starting the A main will pay $100 to the drivers.

Adding in the fact that Reliable Chevrolet and GM Performance have also raised the bar this season with extra money for those drivers using the Reliable Chevrolet GM 602 Crate Motor to the tune of $350 to be handed to the top 4 Crate Motor on all B-Modified points shows at Springfield for 2012.Also there is $100 extra to the top finishing CT 525 Crate Motor for the USRA Modifieds weekly.

This will be an open draw for heat race positions only in the B-Modifieds and passing points will help determine the line-ups as the top 8 passing points cars will redraw for starting spots.There is a $25 car entry fee for the B-Modifieds this Saturday.Jon Yeoman Jr. and Larry Tindle have won the previous 2 Reliable Specials held.

Looking at the track point standings things have gotten very tight overall after last weeks events as Mitch Keeter has become the first driver in the USRA Budweiser Modifieds this season to still hold the number 1 spot,but 3-time winner Bobby Pearish has closed the gap to only 6 points and 5 time USRA Track Champion Jackie Dalton sets only 16 markers out of the lead as early season point leader John Yeoman and a fast moving Jerry Lankton complete the top 5.

The Reliable Chevrolet B Mods still shows Scott Drake in the lead,but last weeks winner Mike Hailman has closed the gap to only a 13 point lead.former Midwest Modz Champion Kaleb Copher is a solid third with 2 time winner Brandon Maggard moving up the ladder as Andy Beauchamp complete the top 5.Both Drake and Brandon Maggard are powered by Reliable GM 602 Crate motors while Hailman and Copher have the Spec motors in their cars along with Beauchamp.

The Casey’s General Stores Midwest Modz class has really been on a roll,but defending champion Trevor Drake holds a 24 point margin over hard charging Taylor Moore as 2 time winner Rusty Forrest is only 4 behind Moore.Todd McGregor and Charlie Gentile complete the top 5.

The Wheeler Metals Legend Cars is currently a free for all.Mike Hailman’s issues in tech last week has place last weeks winner Wayne Johnston of Rolla only 2 markers behind and former Champion Justin Comer just 4 points behind Hailman.Second year driver Caleb McDugle and Billy”The Kid”Cottrill round out the top 5 and still in striking distance.Wesley Smith of Nixa holds an eleven point advantage over last weeks winner Kylan Garner in the Young Lions Kids Legend class.

A new point leader in the Williams Lawn And Preservation Street Stocks as Springfield’s Jim Reid has a slim 3 marker lead over Wayne Morris as the car count keeps moving upward in this class and several fan favorites begin to get back on track.

Defending Pepsi Pure Stock Champion Jack Hamer of Ava is getting as hot as the weather has been with 3 wins,but  his lead over young Brett Testerman is only 8 points.Testerman has yet to grab a feature win but consistent heat race finishes and feature finishes keeps him close while second year driver Philip Schlossberg holds a solid third only 12 out of the lead.This class also keeps going upward weekly in the car count and provides excellent action for the fans.

Saturday night is also scout night at the races.All Scouts(Cub,Boy,Girl) and their Den leaders in uniform will receive Free Grandstand Admission for Saturday night

Grandstand Gates open at 5PM with hotlaps to begin at 6PM and the first race slated at 7PM.

Pit Gates open at 4PM with drivers meetings set for 5:40.Drivers check-in cuts off at 6:15.Drivers arriving afterwards are placed tailback in a heat race.

Grandstand Admission is only $12 for Adults with kids prices 6-12 only $5 and Under 6 Free.Pit passes are $25.
