SPRINGFIELD’S “BETTENHAUSEN 100” RAINED OUT

 

Springfield, IL……..Extremely wet grounds following early-week flooding, compounded by heavy rains Saturday morning and additional expected rain Saturday afternoon, have conspired to force cancellation of the “Bettenhausen 100” USAC Silver Crown Championship race at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Race organizer Bob Sargent and USAC officials are reviewing options for a possible rain date. Please stay tuned for that announcement. A total of 37 cars were pre-entered for the race. The series now prepares for the September 3 “Ted Horn 100” at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds.
