Street Stock Clash kicks off August racing action at Davenport Speedway

 

DAVENPORT, Ia. (August 3, 2016) – When racing returns to the Davenport Speedway, following the Mississippi Valley Fair, racefans should be prepared for three nights of exciting stock car action.

We’ll start the month off with the Street Stock Clash on Friday August 12th. $2,000 will go to the winner of the 50-lap main event. The best Street Stock drivers in eastern Iowa and western Illinois are expected to be on hand for the event.

Special added attraction for the evening will be the Midwest Jalopies. The vintage racing coupes will once again re-live the glory days as they compete on the quarter-mile oval.

Our other weekly classes: the Petersen Plumbing and Heating IMCA Late Models, the Eriksen’s IMCA Modifieds, and the Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods, will also be in action.

The excitement continues Friday, August 19th, as all four weekly classes will be in action. Mechanic Races are also on the agenda for the evening. It is also our final Kid’s Night of 2016. Children 12 and under get in free with a paid adult.

The battle for the 2016 track titles concludes on Friday August 26th, with Season Championship night. All four classes will be in action. The top ten in will line-up by points for the features, with the point leader in each class given the option of taking the back row challenge. Guest class for the evening will be the American Iron Racing Series.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates open at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:15 and racing at 6:45pm.
