Sunflower State Weekend On Horizon
Wheatland, MO (June 17, 2014) – The Lucas Oil MLRA is excited to return to two outstanding tracks in the Sunflower State this weekend. Friday the series returns to the Whitworth family’s Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas. Saturday action will shift north to the Conkwright family’s Thunder Hill Speedway.
“We are certainly glad to be going back to these two tracks again,” commented Race Director Ernie Leftwich. “We’ve had a lot of good shows so far this year, and we’re excited to bring the series to the fans in Kansas for the first time this season.”
Chad Simpson had another good weekend with three straight third place finishes. He was able to put about thirty more points between he and second place in the standings. His advantage heading into the weekend is 99 markers in front of Terry Phillips. Travis Dickes sits third, 114 points back. Jeremy Payne and John Anderson fill out the top five points positions.
Jesse Stovall has won the last two Lucas Oil MLRA shows at Humboldt. Thunder Hill Speedway has produced a slew of winners over the past five years, since the Conkwright’s assumed ownership. 2013 MLRA Champion Tony Jackson Jr. won the most recent race there.
