Tedrow, Griffiths, Carter, McDaniel, Harward, and Alexander win at Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD, IOWA  (June 30, 2012) – With Temperatures very warm and humit it set up for a great night of racing at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway on KBOE Radio 104.9 FM and 740 AM of Oskaloosa Night. This night would also see the 2nd night of the season for the Cold Truth-Busch Light Winged 305 Super Series presented by Nagel Enterprises.

First feature of the night was the Kollision Korner Sport Compacts 12 lap feature. Kelly Osborne would lead the first lap before Tim Bevins would sneak by and take over the lead on lap 2 from his 6th starting spot. Bevins would slip up just a bit on lap 9 allowing Travis Tedrow, who started 8th, to take over the lead. Tedrow would go on and get his first win of the season with Bevins getting passed by Jim Garrett for 2nd, Bevins would finish 3rd. Larry Hopkins and Aaron Shirley would round out the top 5.

The Kirkland Auto Hobby Stocks 15 lap feautre was up next and it was Mike Kincaid taking the early lead. Kincaid would experience some troubles on lap 6 giving the lead over to Dustin Griffiths Then 3 laps later on lap 9 the caution and red flag would come out after the EMT’s were need in the grandstands. When racing resumed it was Griffiths continue leading and cruise on to the win. Scott Shull would end up finishing 2nd, Rocky Fosdyck would end up finishing 3rd after experiencing a flat tire just before the red flag. Danny Thrasher was 4th and Eric Glass was 5th.

Karr Collision Center Modifieds 15 lap feature would see Young Gun Cayden Carter lead all 15 laps by running the top side all the way around the speedway. “Hollywood” Brandon Banks would try to chase him down but run out of laps and settle for 2nd. Tyler Cale was 3rd, Tyler Vandekamp was 4th and Steve Pumphrey was 5th.

In the Mike’s Tire an Alignment SportMods feature it was Ryan Fullenkamp taking the early lead but on lap 6 the first race caution came out for Tyler Heckart going around in turn 4. On the restart, Fullenkamp would have a right rear tire going down ending his night so he would give the lead over to Mike Shelton. Shelton’s lead would be short lived as Jason McDaniel would take the lead by a bumper on lap 9 but Shelton didn’t give up as he would take the lead back on lap 10. McDaniel would make the move again and take the lead on lap 12 and then the caution would come out for Aaron Penick in turn 3 and 4. McDaniel would go on and take the win. Carter Vandenberg would get by Shelton on the restart for 2nd forcing Shelton back to 3rd. Brett Lowry took 4th and Brandon Dale was 5th.

Taylor Automotive Stock Cars feature would see Mike Harward start 6th but get to the lead right away and not look back. Harward and his crew worked feariously on the car to get it ready for the feature though because after the heat race the car was on fire. Harward woud take the win in the feature that would go green-to-checkered and he thanked his crew for getting the problem fixed to get it back out there. Jim Redmann would finish a close 2nd, Todd Reitzler was 3rd, Derek Kirkland was 4th and Gary Harward was 5th.

Final feature of the night was the Cold Truth Busch Light Winged 305 Sprint Super Series presented by Nagel Enterprises. Before 1 lap was complete the car of Cody Ambers would go around in turn 3 to bring the yellow out. When the race got going it was Mark Widmar taking the lead and Widmar would pull away and not be caught into he got into lap traffic. On lap 10, Widmar trying to put another lap down on Sarena Paul, they would get together in turn 3 forcing the yellow to come out. Widmar and Paul would end up on the hook and this would give the lead over to Mitchell Alexander. Alexander would lead the last 5 laps to take the win his first of the year. Dakota Hendrickson was 2nd, Dustin Clark was 3rd, Cody Ambers was 4th and Mike Philben was 5th.
