Stuart schedules four IMCA Late Model dates

STUART, Iowa (April 17) – Four dates featuring IMCA Late Models have been announced for the 2012 season at Stuart Speedway.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, All-Star Performance state and local track points will be awarded for Sunday, May 20, June 17, July 29 and Aug. 5 shows.

If weather permits and all four events are held, a track champion will be crowned and will receive pro-rated bonus points applicable toward national standings.

“We have had a lot of fans and drivers in other divisions suggest that we bring the Late Models in,” promoter Chuck Vanderheiden said. “We’ve already gotten sponsorship help – and we’re looking for more – to help make that possible.”

Vanderheiden believed non-sanctioned late models last ran at Stuart some time in the 1980s.

Opening night at Stuart for five other classes, the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts, is April 29.
