UMP LATE MODEL RACE MONDAY, MAY 28 NO LONGER PART OF BUD SERIES
PEORIA, IL (May 23, 2012) – By mutual agreement between Peoria Speedway track owner Curt Mottaz and Promoters Chuck Barnes, Jr. and Chris Osborn, the UMP Late Model event on Monday, May 28 will no longer be a points race for the Budweiser UMP Super Late Model Series.
The race will award UMP points and now the Bud Series will still be based on the top 8 finishes for drivers in the 9 race series.
“Because of how late the date was changed on this race, we didnt think it was fair to our drivers who had been following the series to change plans at the last minute”, said Mottaz. “It will still be a full UMP points race but it will not be a part of the Bud Series.”
All other details remain the same for Monday, including the fact the $3,000 to-win UMP Modified race is still a part of the “Modified Mania” mini-series with Farmer City Raceway. For more information on the race, fans and drivers can contact Chuck Barnes at 309-219-2236 or Chris Osborn at 309-361-1387.
