Walker,Herring,Hemstead,Chandler,Win Saturday Night at West Liberty

WEST LIBERTY, IA (May 19, 2012) – Andy Eckrich grabbed the lead from veteran Ron Boyse on the eighth lap,and went on to capture his first IMCA late model weekly series victory of the 2012 racing season here at the west liberty raceway saturday night.Eckrich who started ninth on the grid was followed across the line by eighth starting Ray Guss Jr coming home second,Denny Eckrich winner of the last two late model features here at west liberty was third,Kevin Kile who started seventh finished fourth with earlier leader in the twenty five lapper Ron Boyse coming home fifth.Andy Eckrich and Ron Boyse posted heat race victories.

In the SPI Modified twenty lap feature twenty six year racing veteran Terry Walker ended a winless streak of three years as he captured the a main leading from flag to flag for victory.The win was a hard fought one as Bruce Hanford was neck n neck with him at the checkers.Hanford was second,Kurt Kile third,Todd Hansen fourth,with Steve Stewart fifth.Johnny Spaw and Terry Walker posted heat race wins.

John Hemstead took the lead on the seventh lap fom Andrew Burke and went on to win his second Kile Motorsports fifteen lap stock car feature of the season.Shane Paris was second, Andrew Burke third,Rod Staats fourth,with Jason Hartman fifth.Josh Woods was your heat race winner.

In the Spenler Tire IMCA type modified fifteen lap feature Larry Herring took the lead from Todd Dykema on the third lap the kept Ryan Dolan at bay late in the race to record his first win of the season.Dolan finished second,Steve Stewart third,Dakota Hayden fourth,with Mark Verbeck fifth.Heat races were won by Larry Herring and Shelly Kirkpatrick.

In the US6 Body Works IMCA Sport Compact Division Nathan Chandler made his first visit to the speedway a successful one as he won the ten lap event.It was his fourth win in six attempts to go along with two second place finishes.Cody Thompson was second,Aaron Hitt third,Bill Whalen fourth,with Ryan Walker fifth.Jeremiah Smith and Jordan Walker posted heat race wins.
