$10,000 is top prize for IMCA Modifieds at Marshalltown World Nationals
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds race for $10,000 to win at Marshalltown Speedway’s March 22-24 World Nationals.
The 12th annual special is open to competitors using claim or crate engine options. The minimum $500 to start feature is a qualifying event for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and tow money is $250.
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods race for $1,000 to win while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for $500 to win both Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24.
Qualifying starts on Friday for the Modifieds.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State, but no track points will be awarded. Modified entry for the weekend is $175 while Stock Cars and SportMods are $50 per day and Hobby Stocks $25 per day.
Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. each day, with an open practice from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday preceding the Cookies BBQ Sauce Kickoff to the World Nationals. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Friday and at 6 p.m. Saturday with no hot laps either day.
Pit passes will be $10 on Thursday and $30 both Friday and Saturday. Grandstand admission is $15 on Friday and $20 on Saturday, with kids 10 and under free both days. Camping is $20 a night. Showers and limited electrical hookups are available.
