WINSTON, MO (August 31, 2024) – Another action-packed night at the races brought 105 total racecars and a packed grandstand! Tonight, at I-35 Speedway it was Mike Knight Memorial night at the races presented by Casey’s. Mike was our former track prep guy at I-35 who dedicated so much of his time to the track. Before we got the action started, our track Grand Marshal J.D. Green and Mike’s late wife Mary paraded around the track while releasing balloons in honor of Mike Knight. Tonight, was also $1,000 to win in the Pure Stocks, as well as an 8-foot tall trophy for the winner.

Tyler Starmer was able to take home the $1,000 check and giant trophy after battling with Jakub Hisel the entire race. Hisel lead a majority of the race, but Starmer was able to pass Hisel on the final lap for a photo-finish at the flag stand. Winning by .006 of a second per the Westhold timing system.

Casey Burnett led from start to finish in the E-Mods to collect back-to-back feature wins, Burnett’s 8th feature win this season. Grant Sheetz had to hold off Emma Mather who finished 2nd in the Jr. Sport Compacts to bring home the feature win, this was Sheetz 19th win this season.

We welcomed the Midwest Lightning Sprint Cars back to I-35 Speedway, as Stanley Kreisel used a front row starting spot to get his 2nd feature win this season at the track. Jason Teel used a late race restart to get his first win in the Sport Compacts this year. Teel is also our main flagman here at the track. Mark Dotson collected the feature win in the Midwest Limited Late Models after holding off a hard-charging Tommy Cordray. This was win number 6 this season for Dotson.

Patrick Royalty parked his USRA B-Mod in victory lane. This was the first win this season for Royalty in the B-Mods. Thank you to all the amazing race fans that came out to the track. The energy was high throughout the entire night! Thank you to all our track officials and safety crews for keeping everyone safe and the racing exciting the entire night. Another huge shoutout to all the drivers that put on an amazing show in every racing class.
