124 Cars at Walker Excavating Night at the Races I-35 Speedway

WINSTON, MO (May 30, 2015) – Starting the night’s racing action were the make-up features from May 16, 2015.  First to take to the track were the USRA B-Mods with Ed Noll #15 picking up his first ever victory at I-35 Speedway.  Noll would use a pole starting spot to lead every lap but was challeneged consistently by second place finisher Danan Knott #18k.  Jim Cameron #96c and Randy Ainsworth #57 would duel to the checkers with Cameron placing third and Ainsworth fourth.  Current point leader Tim Eaton #211 was the big mover of the race by coming from back to front to place a consistent fifth.  Heat race winners included Ed Noll #15, Jim Cameron #96c, Randy Ainsworth #57, and Tim Eaton #211.

Next up on the track was the make-up feature for the USRA Stock Cars and they would not disappoint.  Dean Wray and Jason Estes would race side by side, swapping the lead lap after lap.  Heat race winner Dean Wray #77 would pick up the feature win holding other heat race winner Estes #997 to place second.  Current National USRA point leader Thomas Roberts #65x would finish a solid third with Jon Boller Jr #20x fourth.  Jeff Dixon #88 would round out the feature’s top five.

Tackling the three-eighths mile of dirt next were the E-Mod drivers with Jeremiah Asher #02xa claiming the night’s top spot.  Thirteen year old driver Nicholas Carpenter #33 would impress all by notching a second place finish.  Kyle Henning #1 was the big mover of the feature by climbing his way from deep in the field to finish third.  Manlee Lamar #4m continues a great rookie season with a fourth place finish as Kit Bailey #77 would place fifth.  Heat race winners included Jeremiah Asher #02xa, Bobby Russell #7, and Phil Birkinsha #7s.

Grand Nationals were next onto I-35 Speedway as the familiar face of Buz Kaster #54 would sweep the night by winning both heat race and feature event.  Kaster and second place finisher Austin Johnson #98 would battle side by side in the early laps with Kaster eventually gaining the advantage.  Houston Johnson #97 would pass Donnie Brown #26 late in the race to finish third leaving Brown to place fourth.  Marty Powell #9p would again show consistency by rounding out the night’s top five.

Hobby Stocks would take to the track next and witness the two heat race winners Greg Gilbert #23g and Mich Ross #34 battle to the checkers with Gilbert first and Ross second.  Tyler Clark #0x would again drive a flawless race bringing “The Green Ox” home in third.  Justin Atkins #15 and Carson Masoner #47x would also fight to the checks with Atkins edging Masoner at the line to finish fourth and fifth respectively.

Midwest Lightning Sprints would be in attendance this week with a caution free feature and a new face in victory lane.  Tom Brown #b20 would lead every lap and never look back taking the checkers in his first win at I-35 Speedway this 2015 racing season.  Jared Soloman #22 would back up his heat race win with an impressive second place finish as Ken Billings #85 would finish third.  Luke McGee #49 and Rick Baxter #12b would fight it out to the line with McGee fourth and Baxter fifth.

High in number and quality the USRA B-Mods would charge to the track and see repeat winner Andy Bryant #28 in McCarthy Auto-Group Victory Lane.  Early leader and heat race winner Nic Hanes #9h would fight tooth and nail until contact would take Hanes out of contention for the win.  Heat race winner Bryant would take over the lead and never relinquish it.  Heat race winner Jeremy Pittsenbarger #32p would live up to his nickname by using the high-side on his way to claim second place.  Point leader Tim Eaton #211 would again show poise and consistency by racing his way to finish third.  Big mover of the feature by coming through the B-Feature and through the pack in the feature was Clint Baker #17x by placing fourth.  Heat race winner Jim Cameron #96c would round out the feature’s top five.  Other heat race winner was #86 of Donnie Miller; B-Feature winners were David Bouzek #75 and Randy Ainsworth #57.

In a race to be remembered by all in attendance the USRA Stock Cars continue their impressive ways.  Heat race winner Jeff Dixon #88 would be standing tall in victory lane when the checkers were waved.  Dixon would take the early lead only to slip high in turn two allowing Dean Wray #77 to take the lead.  Dixon would then mount a charge back to the front by using the high side and sail past the #77 of second place finisher Wray.  Big Mover of the race was Billie Hoover #21h passing cars on the high side on his way to a third place finish.  Heat race winner Jason Estes #997 would recover from an early race mishap to place fourth.  USRA National Point Leader Thomas Roberts #65x would again race his way to a solid fifth place finish.  Other heat race winner was Jon Boller Jr #20x.

High Flying, Fire Breathing, Alcohol Drinking USRA Modifieds would round out the night’s racing action.  Heat race winners Terry Schultz #90 and Jim Moody #00 would race side by side for the first four circuits until Schultz would gain the advantage off turn number four.  Schultz #90 would hold the lead late until Matt Dotson would challenge on the high side but come up just short as Schultz would be the victor.  Heat race winner Matt Dotson #88d would make a gallant effort only to finish second.  Aaron Marrant #70 would battle door to door with Johnny Fennewald #21 with Marrant third and Fennewald fourth.  I-35 Speedway defending Track Champion Zach Sanders #69 would charge through the pack and end the night in fifth.  Other heat race winner was Austin Johnson #98.
