2017 Northwest Missouri State Fair races
It’s time for racing at the 101st Northwest Missouri State Fair, September 3rd & 4th.
2016 was a record setting year at the Northwest Missouri State Fair with 107 cars signing in the pits for Sunday night races. But both nights were just as exciting. Changes are made to better the racing every year. And again, changes come in 2017. Feature payouts are still in the works.
On Sunday night the pits will overflow with the Emod, Pure Stock, USRA Bmod & USRA A Mod classes. Monday has the Show-Me Vintage racers, Emod, USRA Stock Cars & USRA Bmods.
The Emod class will again be doing double duty on both Sunday & Monday nights. Added money will be up for grabs again this year. Sunday’s added money will pay $10 for heat wins on Sunday & $20 for heat wins on Monday. Features will pay $5 each lap led on Sunday night & $10 for each lap led on Monday. Also $20 to the hard charger in the feature on Sunday & $50 on Monday. That means a driver could add nearly $200 to his take home if both nights work out right for him.
The Pure Stock class seems to step up & be a little more exciting every year. This year should be no different. The Pure Stock class will see bonus money with heats paying $10 to win, $5 for each lap led in the feature & $20 to the hard charger. That would be nearly a $100 bonus if a driver could dominate the Pure Stock class on Sunday night.
The USRA Bmod Class has 2 big changes for 2017. 1-YES, I said USRA. The Bmods will be USRA sanctioned so drivers can add to their yearly national points. 2-The USRA Bmod class has been added to the Monday night races. With huge car counts the last couple years it only made sense to schedule them both nights & make it sanctioned so drivers could get points. Sunday nights added money will be worth $20 for heat wins, $10 per lap led & $50 for the hard charger. Monday nights bonus money will be beefed up some. It’s $25 to win a heat, $20 to lead laps & $100 hard charger bonus. One driver could head home with as much as $500 in bonus money if both nights work out good.
The USRA Amods have spent years running on Monday nights. In 2017, they get their chance to put themselves in the packed house on Sunday night. Again, also receiving USRA national points should make it even more exciting & maybe some new names to the Northwest Missouri State Fair. The added money for the Amod class will be, $30 to heat winners, $20 per lap for 20 laps & $100 hard charger. That comes up to over $400 extra for a single night of racing.
The Show-Me Vintage Racers will be up first for the Monday night show. Seems only fitting to watch the Vintage cars at the fair for the fifth straight year. It will take fans back to where racing started years ago.
With the Vintage cars, Emod & USRA Bmod classes on Monday, that only leaves the USRA Stock Cars. The USRA Stock cars have provided lap after lap of excitement for years at the fair. Car counts have been good during that time. But there’s always room for more. So the bonus money has been stepped up in 2017 for the USRA Stock cars in an effort to see more cars this year. Heat race winners will receive $50. The hard charger will get $150. And each lap led will be worth $30. The USRA Stock Car class has plenty of money for the taking this year with over $500 worth of bonus money.
Last year was the first year of the fan bonus. 8 fans went home with $50 in their hands. And that will continue this year.
Other bonus money and/or awards may be added. Also, feature payouts will be released soon.
Thousands of dollars is being put up for grabs by sponsors at the Northwest Missouri State Fair. Why miss all the excitement with racing on Sunday & Monday night on Labor Day weekend at the 2017 Northwest Missouri State Fair.
