VINTON, Iowa (April 25) – A record 24 entries are in hand for IMCA’s fifth annual Manufacturer’s Cup contest.

Modified chassis builders compete for national and regional awards, based on top 10 standings in each of the five regions. The builder with the top overall point total will be recognized as the national Manufacturer of the Year, a title that will be accompanied by a $500 prize and trophy.

“There are several factors in the record number of manufacturers in this year’s contest, including a combination of new builders in states where IMCA is already well established and builders where there are new sanctions,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “The Manufacturer’s Cup is a great way for builders to get more exposure. One thing we already know for sure is that there are a lot of people building good cars.”

First-time entries in the Manufacturers’ Cup field this year include B & B Racing Chassis of Belle Plaine, Minn., Chase Allen Motorsports of Midlothian, Texas, Ninja Chassis by DeVilbiss of Farmington, N.M., Dirt Works Race Cars of Oronogo, Mo., Mad Man Chassis of Appleton, Wis., and X-Factor Race Cars of Springfield, Ore.

They join 1st Class Chassis of Great Bend, Kan.; Addiction Chassis of Price, Utah; three-time and defending national Manufacturer of the Year Belleville Motorsports of Belleville, Kan.; Billsbuilt Race Cars of Wichita, Kan.; Destroyer Chassis of Kennedale, Texas; Dirt Boss Chassis of Boone; Edge Chassis of Red Oak; GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, Ark.; Harris Auto Racing of Boone; Jet Racing of Beatrice, Neb.; Larry Shaw Race Cars of Batesville, Ark.; Medieval Chassis of Mayer, Minn.; Rage Chassis of West Union; Razor Chassis of LeMars; Sidebiter Chassis of Kanawha; Skyrocket Chassis of Fertile; Taylor Motorsports of Jonesboro, Ark.; and Victory Chassis of Boone.

Nineteen builders were entered in last year’s contest.

All Manufacturer’s Cup awards will be presented during the national IMCA awards banquet in Lincoln, Neb., in November. Staff members for the top national manufacturer receive jackets from Speedway Motors.

“We are really pleased to maintain the relationship with all of our builders from last year and excited to add six new manufacturers to this year’s program. Each builder on this list has a great reputation for building a quality IMCA Modified that can win races in 2013,” Yoder said. “If you are in the market for a new or used car I wouldn’t stray from the names on this list to ensure you get fast and safe Modified.”
