4-Stock Nationals top August racing action at Davenport Speedway

 

DAVENPORT, Ia. (August 7, 2014) – August, when the weather is warm and the racing action is even hotter! Three hot August nights will determine our five Davenport Speedway track champions and final $2,000-to-win special of 2014.

We’ll start the month off with the 4-Stock Nationals on Friday August 8th. $2,000 will go to the winner of the 50-lap main event. Weekly point races will be held in all other classes.

The best 4-Stock drivers in eastern Iowa and western Illinois are expected to be on hand for the event.

The excitement continues Friday, August 15th, as all five weekly classes will be in action:

the Petersen Plumbing and Heating IMCA Late Models, the Milan Heating & Air IMCA Modifieds, the Koehler Electric Street Stock class, the Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods,

and the Roto-Rooter 4-Stock division.

That evening is also our final Kid’s Night of 2014. Children 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. Bike races for the kids will be held after the stock car racing program has concluded.

The battle for the 2014 track titles concludes on Friday August 22nd, with Season Championship night. All five classes will be in action. The top ten in will line-up by points for the features, with the point leader in each class given the option of taking the back row challenge.

The Davenport Speedway will host two post-season specials in September.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates open at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
