5th Annual Slocum 50 April will pay $5,555 to IMCA late Model 50 lap feature this Saturday
BURLINGTON, IA (April 1, 2013) – IMCA Late Model racers will take to the 34 Raceway track Saturday, April 6 for the Fifth Annual Slocum 50 Saturday, April 6. $5,555 will go to the winner of the 50 lap Deery Brothers Summer Series feature. Additional money has also been added with Jim’s Lock & Safe/Lange Farms adding $555 to the Hard Charger and a $538 Honus Bonus goes to leader on lap 38 from family and friends of Jeremy “Honus” Wagner. Jeremy who was killed in a car accident, had a passion for racing and was a wrench man for the #38 late model driven by Colby Springsteen.
The Saturday show will be the 48th Deery event held at West Burlington’s 34 Raceway. Mike Murphy Jr. of Colona, Ill., became the 29th different winner there when he took the checkers at last April’s race, held in memory of the 2004 Late Model track champion at 34, Brent Slocum.
Also competing for track points will be the Weikert Iron and Metal Sport Mods and I Connect You, Louisa Communications 4 Cylinders.
Pit gates open at 4, grandstands 5. Adults $15 ($1 of every adult grandstand admission will be donated to the Brent Slocum Scholarship fund). Seniors & Students $13, Kids 10 and under FREE. Pit pass $30.
