Rod End Supply Night at the Races I-35 Speedway

WINSTON, MO (September 6, 2014) – Setting the pace early the ever growing E-Mod class would not disappoint with great side by side racing action for the win.  John Brown #36J would battle the entire race to get by a very fast #90 of Allie Mulich.  Mulich would lead almost every lap yet slip one time and that was all Brown needed to capitalize and take the feature win.  Chris Dishong #41 was the big mover of the race coming from a shotgun starting spot to end the night in second place.  One time leader Allie Mulich would not be denied a solid finish as she would wheel her way to third.  LeRoy Cameron #6a continues his streak of top five finishes by placing fourth as the checkers were shown.  Outside pole sitter Dustin Lawrence #51 would slip early and recover to round out the features top five.  Heat race winners were John Brown #36j and Kit Bailey #77.

USRA Hobby Stocks would see point leader Mich Ross #34 drive his way to the front and see the checkers first and would visit McCarthy Auto-Group Winners Circle.  Ross was challenged late by the hard charge of Brady Link #29 who would end the night in second place.  Greg Gilbert #23g continues to impress as he would place third with John Willard #1/2 fourth.  Bruce Lewis Jr #77L was a top contender all feature only to slip and place fifth.  Heat race winners were Brady Link #29 and Josh Adkins #15.

Lancaster Kansas was well represented as Donnie Brown #26 would pilot his very fast Grand National past the field picking up his third feature win at I-35 Speedway this 2014 racing season.  Heat race winner Austin Johnson #98 would work his way through traffic to catch Brown but would run out of laps and place second.  Don Marrs #9 would finish third, Buz Kaster #54 fourth, and Houston Johnson #97 fifth.

Returning to the three-eighths mile of dirt the Midwest Lightning Sprints put on a spectacular show.  Side by side racing up front would witness Bobby Layne #01 and Mark K. Billings #51 battle it out for the win.  When the smoke had settled Mark K. Billings was standing tall in victory lane.  Layne would finish second as Luke McGee #13 would race to an impressive third.  Newcomer to I-35 Speedway Jared Solomon #88 would hold off #99c of Chet Yates with Solomon fourth and Yates fifth.  Heat race winners were Bobby Layne #01 and Luke McGee #13.

In an action packed USRA B-Mod feature the current USRA National point leader Chad Clancy #21c would again show his dominance claiming the night’s top spot.  Clancy would battle his way through the pack passing early race leader Dustin Crist #222 for the win.  Crist would swap the second position several times with Gene Claxton #42, with Crist eventually claiming second place holding Claxton to third.  One time leader Matt Dorssom #3d would slip late and recover to place fourth.  Jim Cameron #96c was the hard charger of the feature coming from back to front placing fifth.  Heat race winners included Dustin Miller #52m, Chad Clancy #21c, and Gene Claxton #42.  B-Feature winner was Richard Biggs #52r.

In a race that would live up to the hype the USRA Stock Cars would display undeniable driving talent as first time winner at I-35 Speedway Brett Heeter #05 would claim the night’s top spot.  Heeter would use the extreme high side to run down and pass I-35 point leader Thomas Roberts #65x forcing Roberts to settle for second.  Roberts would try gallantly on the low side to no avail all the while trying to hold off the very fast third place finisher Dean Wray #77.  Jake Newman #222 would find the three-eighths mile of dirt to his liking as he would bring home his hotrod in fourth.  Jake Cameron #86c would round out the night’s top five.  Heat race winners were John O’Neal Jr #33 and Dean Wray #77.

High Flying, Fire Breathing, Alcohol Drinking USRA Modifieds would end the night on a high note with great racing action through the pack.  Picking up his fifth feature win of the 2014 racing season Dennis Elliott #29 would lead every lap on his way to the win and McCarthy Auto-Group Winners Circle.  Heat race winner Zach Sanders #69 was the big mover of the race coming through the pack to place second.  Other heat race winner Bud Wilson #75 would continue his hot streak by placing a solid third.  Steven Glenn #26s and Tyler Grooms #92 would battle it out tooth and nail with Glenn fourth and Grooms fifth.
