McCarthy Auto Group Championship Night sat I-35 Speedway!!!!!!!!

 

WINSTON, MO (October 24, 2015) – Kicking off the great racing action on McCarthy Auto Group Championship Night would see the E-Modifieds roar to the track. Heat race winner Alvie Christofferson #20x would take the early lead from a pole starting spot and lead the first few circuits until other heat race winner and 2015 Track Champion John Brown #36j would charge past on the inside. Brown would not look back and race on to victory leaving Christofferson to place second. Austin Bouzek #14 would race a borrowed car from deep in the field to place third as Kit baily would finish a close fourth. Kyle Henning #1would have a smooth and consistent race and round out the night’s top five. Other heat race winner was Corey Myers #15 who would be involved in an early race mishap taking him from win contention.
Hobby Stocks would be in fine form as they would put on a great show of racing to the checkers. Greg Gilbert #23g would work his way to the front early in the feature and hold off all challengers on his way to McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle. Gilbert would have to work for the win as 2015 Hobby Stock Track Champion Mich Ross #34would be on his bumper the entire feature but fall short at the end and place second on the night. Heat race winner and early leader Conner Masoner #47x would hold off younger brother Carson Masoner #13x as they would finish third and fourth respectively. Anthony Persell #87 would move through the pack and place a solid fifth. Other heat race winner on the night was Jim Masoner #99.

Grand Nationals, in the closest point battle going into the nights racing action, would see Donnie Brown #26 win the heat race as he and Buz Kaster #54 would start on the front row of the feature. When the race started, miss-starts would force the front row to the rear and move the second row up to the point. When the green flew Austin Johnson #98 would charge to the lead only to see it evaporate as the feature progressed. Kaster would charge from the back to the front and on to victory claiming both feature win and the 2015 Grand National Track Championship. Brown would do all he could and come home second on the night as Austin Johnson would fade to third. Bobby Lopez #1L would be in the hunt and place fourth with Marty Powell #9p fifth.
USRA B-Modifieds would see a new face added to the winners list in 2015 as Johnny McGinnis #33j would charge to the front and on to victory capturing his first feature win this year at I-35 Speedway. McGinnis would be challenged often but run a flawless feature to see the checkers first with big mover of the race Steve Starmer #11s placing second. Starmer would start last in the feature as he suffered problems in his heat race and pass all cars but McGinnis. 2015 USRA B-Modified Track Champion Tim Eaton #211, who also had problems in his heat race, would charge from the back to the front and place third on the night. Bud Wilson #77x would race to the checkers and place fourth holding #52m of Dustin Miller to finish fifth. Heat race winners were one time leader Randy Ainsworth #57 who would suffer a broken drive shaft and Clint Baker #17x would was a lead contender until steering issues forced him over the bank in turn #1 and out of the race.

USRA Stock Cars would see great racing action from start to finish as they took to the three eights mile of dirt. Chris Dishong #98 would take the early lead and be the car to beat early as he set a blistering pace for the first half the feature. As the race progressed, Jason Estes #997 would charge to the front, after an early race mishap sent him to the back, and challenge Dishong for the top spot. As Estes was challenging for the lead mechanical problems would force him from the feature and Dishong would follow him to the pits one lap later with mechanical issues. When the yellow flag was lifted Billie Hoover #21h would lead the race and battle wheel to wheel with Thomas Roberts #65x for several laps. Roberts would take over the top spot and never relinquish picking up win #81 of his illustrious career. Hoover would go on to finish a close second with Alvie Christofferson #22a crossing the line third. Blake Peeler #292 was among the leaders all race and mount a charge in the end to place fourth with Jon Boller III #6x ending the night fifth. Heat race winners were Jason Estes and Jon Boller Jr #20x, who would suffer a flat tire early from contact and retire from the feature. Your 2015 USRA I-35 Speedway Stock Car Track Champion is “Hollywood” Dean Wray #77.

USRA Modifieds would not disappoint with great racing action up front. Kevin Blackburn #26k, on his first visit to I-35 Speedway, would find the fast smooth track to his liking out dueling second place finisher Issac Dotson #67d and picking up the feature win. Blackburn would not be challenged in the later stages of the race and cruise to victory. Heat race winner Derick Hicks #78 would take the third spot on the night with Ryan Schaffer #R21 fourth. Other heat race winner John Hanson #2h would recover from an early race spin to mount a charge back through the field to finish fifth. 2015 USRA Modified I-35 Speedway Track Champion is Dennis Elliott #29.
