WINSTON, MO (April 9, 2016) – With a pit full of fast race cars E-Modified would start Thompkins Industries Night at the races in style with great action from start to finish. Matt Dorssom #3d would use heat race win momentum to propel him to the front as he would hold off all challengers and claim the checkers for his first win of 2016.  Big mover of the feature was second place finisher Daniel Harris #07 as he would work traffic to perfection and challenge Dorssom late with Randy Smith Jr #20x recovering from an early race mishap to place third on the night. Week one winner and fellow heat race winner Robert Fisk #31b would challenge for a repeat win but fade late to end the night fourth with Josh Munsen #19x showing and impressive fifth place finish is just his second night out in the division.

Pure Stock would see a first time winner as Austin McKinzie #09 would race his way to the front and to the win in only his second race ever. Heat race winners Conner and Carson Masoner would lead early but have problems handling the fast 3/8th mile of dirt fading as the race developed. Second place would see Cody King #29 hold of the fast Colten Ishmael #99i to the line leaving Ishmael to third. Fourth place would belong to the #7 of Dylan DeOrnellis with week one winner Carson Masoner rounding out the nights top five.

Next to tackle the smooth fast racing surface would be Chargers with action packed excitement to the end. Heat race winner Buz Kaster #54 would take the early lead until contact between he and Houston Johnson #97 would open the door for Travis Walker #71 to get the inside line. Walker and Johnson would race side by side and wheel to wheel to the checkers with Walker finishing ahead of Johnson by mere inches. Walker would celebrate in McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle and Johnson would finish second. Kaster would recover from the contact to place third with Mich Ross #54x fourth and Marty Powell #9p fifth.

USRA B-Modified would race next and not disappoint the fans braving the wind and cold with a familiar face in victory lane. Driving 17x owned by Clint Baker, Nic Hanes would lead every lap and on to his first win of 2016 filling in for the injured Baker. Chris Wright #66x would challenge Hanes early but to no avail and finish second on the night with 2015 National Champion Andy Bryant #28 a close third. Steve Starmer #11s continues to impress this season notching a fourth place showing holding the always fast Randy Ainsworth #57 to settle for fifth place on the night. Heat race winners were Nic Hanes #17x, Chris Wright #66x and Shadren Turner #17t.

USRA Stock Cars would see our first repeat winner of the season as Heat race winner Jason Estes #997 would use the low line and take over the lead and win number two in as many weeks. Big mover of the race was Jon Boller Jr #20x who would charge to the front in the latter stages of the feature to place second behind Estes. Sam Scott #93 would have a great night notching a third place finish with the 22x of Alvie Christofferson placing fourth. Aaron Sauter #83a would have another solid performance and come home in the fifth position. Other heat race winner was Blake Peeler #292 who was in the action until mechanical problems forced him from competition.

USRA Modifieds would take the track next and see heat race winner Cory Wray #69n charge by the competition and never look back capturing the checkers in McCarthy Auto Group Winners Circle. Wray would be challenged early and often by Canada’s finest and other heat race winner Joey Galloway #01 who would end the night with an impressive second place finish. Zach Sanders #69 would again show speed and consistency as he would race his way to third holding off the hard charge of mover and shaker of the feature, fourth place finisher Darren Shaw #11. Gunner Martin #75 in his first race of 2016 would end the night with a solid fifth place finish.

Visiting I-35 Speedway for the first time ULMA Late Models would be in fine form as they mastered the fast 3/8ths mile of dirt. With Sam on the Mic calling the action eleven of the finest Late Model drivers put on a show to be remembered with heat race winner Chris Smyser #25s taking the early lead setting a blistering pace on the low side of the track. As the race progressed David Melloway #14x would find the high side to his liking and make the move around Smyser and never look back and on to the feature win. Smyser would finish a close second with big mover Jason Bodenhamer #2b racing through the pack and challenged late but settle for third. Jon Binning #65 would end the night fourth with Dustin Hodges #22h racing to a solid fifth ending a night of great racing action. Other heat race winner was Jon Melloway #74x.
