Street Stock Clash begins championship stretch drive at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Ia. (August 3, 2017) – Racing will return to the Davenport Speedway, following the Mississippi Valley Fair. Three great nights of exciting stock car action will determine the 2017 track champions.

 

We’ll start off with the Street Stock Clash on Friday August 11th. $2,000 will go to the winner of the 50-lap main event. The best Street Stock drivers in eastern Iowa and western Illinois are expected to be on hand for the event. Weekly point races will be held in our other weekly classes: the Petersen Plumbing and Heating IMCA Late Models, the Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modifieds, and the Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods, will also be in action.

 

Friday, August 18th, is Kid’s Back to School Night. All four weekly classes will be in action, using a draw/re-draw format. Children 12 and under get in free with a paid adult.

 

The battle for the 2017 track titles concludes on Friday August 25th, with Season Championship night. All four classes will be in action. The top ten in will line-up by points for the features, provided they start their heat race. Guest class for the evening will be the American Iron Racing Series. Mechanic Races are also on the agenda season championship night

 

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates open at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:15 and racing at 6:45pm.
