BETHANY SPEEDWAY OPENS THE 2020 SEASON ON MAY 9th and SPEED SHIFT TV

| May 1, 2020

It’s finally time to kick off the 2020 race season at Bethany Speedway. After a short delay of getting to start the season, we now get to race. And the first TWO races will be broadcast on Speed Shift TV.

May 9th will be opening night at Bethany Speedway. With IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Modified, IMCA Stock Car, IMCA Sportmod, Pure Stock and Emod. Yes, six full classes to kick off the 2020 season. The 2nd race will be the following Saturday on May 16th with the same six classes.

In 2019 Bethany Speedway became the track with the most bumper to bumper and door to door racing action, race after race. Some of the highest car counts per class and the fewest yellow flags each and every night provided some of the best racing to watch all summer.

This should be a monumental beginning to the 2020 season. Six of the most popular classes to start, a food truck for your dining at the track, new drivers in all classes, some rookies and some not, drivers coming out of retirement and returning champions. There’s not a bad seat in the place. Box seats where you can set in your very own, comfortable, lawn chair.

The best racing action anywhere will be at Bethany Speedway all summer. With the first two races back to back on May 9th and May 16th and on Speed Shift TV.

We do have some social distancing guidelines we still have to follow at this time. But there is room for everybody to accomplish that at Bethany Speedway.

Social distancing rules to start the season at Bethany Speedway

We ask that everyone please read these carefully and thoroughly.

SPECTATORS

1.) Spectators must sit at least 6 feet apart. Family groups may sit together, but everyone else must be 6 feet apart.

2.) Spectators must sit every other row. If you bring a lawn chair for box seats, every other one must be left open.

3.) For any situation where a line may form, at least 6 feet must remain between each person in line. This is in effect for the ticket booth, food truck, beer shack and bathrooms.

4.) At the food truck, there will be NO community condiment area. All condiments will be added by the staff if wanted.

5.) To try to keep lines down, for the month of May, each spectator is permitted one small soft sided cooler (about 8 in. x 12 in. in size).

6.) DO NOT stand in the isle area to spectate. If you are not getting concessions, you must be seated in the bleachers.

7.) It is highly recommended each spectator wear a mask.

8.) We will have people on property monitoring these guidelines. We will also have markers around the property.

9.) If you do not feel well, please stay home.

10.) Refusal to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the property.

DRIVERS AND CREW

1.) Please stay within your respective pit area as much as possible.

2.) When outside your pit area, please remain at least 6 feet from others.

3.) You may go up and watch the racing. However when spectating from the pit area, the spectator guidelines above apply to you as well.

4.) It is highly recommended everyone in the pit area wear a mask.

5.) We will have our computer system auto draw for you at driver check in. To the superstitious drivers out there, we are sorry about this one, but it will be in effect. Redraw will also be done the same way.

6.) For classes running transponders, you will be given a transponder in a plastic bag at check in.

7.) When checking in or getting a pit pass at the pit shack, same as spectators, remain at least 6 feet apart.

8.) If you do not feel well, please stay home.

9.) Refusal to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the property.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

1) Drivers, either fill out the registration form online once we get it up. We will send out a link once we do so.

2) The driver’s meeting will be posted to Facebook on race night. Make sure to watch. We will not gather for a traditional driver’s meeting.

3) Adhere to these guidelines. If everyone actively follows these, we will be able to hold our race safely.

Sincerely,
Bethany Speedway
