One hundred and seventeen cars checked into the pit area at I-35 Speedway for Generational Buildings “CARB Night”. Drivers and track personnel ran a very efficient race tonight with a finish just after 11:30.  The night began with a moving tribute in honor of the 20th Anniversary of 9-11-2001, We will never forget, and a tribute to our 13 fallen heroes as this nation left the country of Afghanistan.  Fans and Drivers were touched by this patriotic salute.

Points leader Michael Taylor III got things started off picking up his 11th win of the season at I-35 Speedway in the E-Mod class. It wasn’t easy as he had to slip by Josh Adkins at about the halfway point. Lane Mathews continues a strong rookie season finishing second. George Burnett finished third, Josh Adkins slipped back to a fourth-place finish with Mark Anderson in fifth.

Rieli Yonts would be the second points leader to pick up a win as he picked up his seventh win in the Pure Stocks. Chase Galvin picked up five spots to finish second, followed by Brandon Rice, Travis Cavin and Kenton Walston.

Tom Charles came out of retirement a few months back to drive one of Jim Thorne’s Show Me Vintage cars and it looks like he made a fun decision to do so as he moved up 10 positions on the night to pick up the win. Andy Wiles also moved up 10 spots to finish second. Damon Clevenger moved up 11 spots to finish third, followed by John Martin and Jeremy Turner.

Another points leader picked up a win as Brad Mick came in first in Sport Compact action. Elijah Hoyt finished second, Mikel Solberg third. Richard McCaulley moved up 12 spots to finish fourth and Chris Nichols was fifth.

Kerry Davis has been piloting the #24 Midwest Limited Late Model for Kenny Green for the last year and a half. Davis bought the car and put his old familiar #68 on the side then picked up his 8th win of the year. Davis came into the night with a slim 3-point lead over Tommy Cordray. With Davis picking up the win and Cordray finishing second, the lead is now 8 points. Dustin Walker came in third, Paul Glendenning fourth and Houston Johnson fifth.

In USRA B-Mod action, Reece Solander picked up his 3rd win of the season. Tyler Kidwell finished second, Jacob Ellison was third, Collin Pierce continues his strong season finishing fourth and the defending champion of the class finished fifth.

In the USRA Stock Cars, points leader Michael Knight picked up his first career win. Knight, who had spun earlier in the race and restarted at the tail would come up through the field to pick up the win. Aaron Sauter finished second, Scott Johnson would come home third, Tim Carman stopped by on his way back to Texas for a fourth-place finish and Thomas Roberts, who lead much of the race, finished fifth in only his second night out this season.

In what has become a trend for the night, another points leader picked up a win in the USRA Modifieds. Houston Johnson led wire to wire in route to his 6th win of the season. Houston was followed by his brother Austin Johnson who finished second. Darren Shaw and Daniel Harris both gained 8 positions to finished third and fourth with Ed Noll rounding out the top five.

This week’s Fan of the Week went to Monty Bonnett sponsored by Paul Glendenning Racing, Thunder Chicken Racing and Daniel Schmidt Racing.

Join us next week as we celebrate a legend of I-35 Speedway with a running of the Good Shepherd Hospice ‘Bud Wilson Memorial’ with the Midwest Lightning Sprints on hand.
