I-35 Speedway, Winston Mo 10-15-2022
By: Phillip Wilson, Track Announcer
Ninty-Six (96) cars checking in for Scobee Powerline night at I-35 Speedway. With only three weeks remaining on the 2022 season the cars filled the pit area with seven driver’s visiting McCarthy Autogroup Victory Lane.
In the E-Mods Adam Dunwoodie put the hammer down from the drop of the green flag and never looked back as he led all twelve laps in a caution free feature event enroute to his third feature win of the season. The Newlywed points leader Casey Burnett started tenth on the night and motored his way to a second-place finish. Aaron Jones, Andrew Thomas, and Kenny Reed all enjoyed nice runs as they completed the top five. Tiffany Cadwallader joined in the victory lane celebration as she won the B-Feature.
In Pure Stock competition Jakub Hisel would use a daring move to make it a four wide battle out of turn two about halfway through the twelve-lap feature to pick up his second feature win of the season. Trevor Hittle, last week’s winner finished second, Jon Boller Jr would race his way up to third, followed by Jimmy Smith and points leader Ava Dixon.
Houston Johnson would capture his first of two wins on the night as he led wire to wire in the Midwest Limited Late Models. It would be Johnsons sixth win in the class this season. Second went to Tommy Cordray, third to points leader Ed Noll and fourth to Harold Robb Jr.
Ethan Issacs picked up his second win of the season at I-35 Speedway in USRA B-Mod competition. Issacs went from third to the lead in a lap and a half and had to hold off numerous challenges. Points leader Tyler Cadwallader would wheel to a second-place finish, Colin Pierce continues a good season finishing third, Michael Taylor III and Corey Myers rebounded from an earlier mishap to round out the top five.
Doug Keller put his familiar number seven back on the side of his USRA Stock Car and picked up win number five on the year at I-35. Rodney Schweizer would comeback from a roll over in his heat race to finish second, Kristchon Hisel looked good once again finishing third, Aaron “Boo” Sauter finished fourth and Conrad Kauffman was fifth driving Chester Kauffman’s car.
Houston Johnson again led wire to wire enroute to his second win on the night second overall in the USRA Modifieds. Points leader Tyler Hibner finished second but put the pressure on Johnson but got too high a few times slipping over the bank. Paden Phillips would make the trip to I-35 Speedway and finished third, Tyler Grooms continued a strong season finishing fourth and Ben Stockton returned to finish fifth.
Points leader Isaiah Penton would visit McCarthy Autogroup Victory Lane for the sixteen time this season as he stretched his points lead in the Sport Compacts to eight points over Brad Mick. Mick wouldn’t be far behind finishing second, young rookie Johnathon Hartman would finish third, followed by Alvin Cooney and Harold Robb Sr.
Congratulations to Brantley Sayers winning this week’s fan of the week sponsored by Shadren Turner Racing, Nichols Racing, Anderson/Reed Racing and Noll Racing.
Join us next Saturday night for O’Reilly Auto Parts Night as we continue to start one hour early (heat races start at 6pm) and we’ll continue our drive to crown our 2022 Track Champions.
