Maquoketa, Iowa: Despite lingering sprinkles Saturday afternoon, the racing program went on as scheduled at the Maquoketa Speedway located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds. 8 feature events were run in a very swift run racing program which saw the final checkered flag of the night wave at 9:30 pm.

The night kicked off with the conclusion of last weeks Amhof Trucking sponsored racing program with the conclusion of the Kunes Nissan IMCA Modified main event. The main was halted due to weather a week ago with one lap in the books. The feature event went off very quickly with Charlie Mohr picking up his second consecutive IMCA Modified win in a row at the quick ¼ mile. Mohr held off Mark Schulte and Ray Cox Jr. in scoring the 20 lap feature win.

The regularly scheduled program then got underway with the qualifying heats run in very quick fashion. The Kinion Auto IMCA Late Model feature saw 18 drivers take the green with Nick Marolf setting a blistering pace at the onset. Marolf would lead the caution free 25 lap main event the entire distance and the win was Marolf’s first win in Maquoketa in several attempts. The Sportmod drivers put on an impressive showing with the main event going caution free green to checkers. Jarrett Franzen got out font early and went on to record the win by holding off the constant challenges of Ben Chapman. The 1JR of Chapman was able to show his nose to Franzen on several occasions but Franzen drove a flawless race in taking the checkers ahead of Chapman and Jacob Arp.

Jason Bahrs scored his second Maquoketa Speedway win of the season by topping the 15 lap feature. Bahrs took the win ahead of Kewaunee, WI visitor Aiden Gretz with Jacob Ellithorpe crossing the finish line in third.

The Buffalo Bandit, Randy LaMar added another feature win to his resume in 23 by scoring the win in the Ueland Auto IMCA Hobby Stock division. LaMar held off a strong run by Jimmy Doescher, who took second ahead of Kile Vohringer.
