Malvern Bank SLMR series race at Davenport Speedway this Friday
Davenport, Ia. (May 22, 2024) – The Malvern Bank SLMR East Series will compete at Davenport Speedway this Friday, May 24th. The Davenport track is familiar territory to the Malvern Bank SLMR drivers. The series has raced here nine times in the last four years.
Justin Kay has dominated the SLMR races at Davenport, winning four times. Andy Eckrich has two wins. Jeff Aikey, Bill Leighton Jr., and Jason Hahne each have one win. Chad Holladay of Muscatine, Iowa is the defending series champion.
The Malvern Bank SLMR East Series already has two races in the books this season. Chad Holladay and Dylan Thorton captured the wins in those events.
The best late model drivers in the region will be in Davenport Friday, racing for a $3,000 first place prize.
IMCA Modifieds will be racing on Friday. The modified feature is also a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. The modifieds will be competing for $1,000-to-win and have a $30 entry fee for Friday’s race. Sport Mods and Hobby Stocks Modifieds will also be racing.
Grandstand admission will be $25 for adults, $10 for children (5-10), and kids (4 and under) are free. Pit passes are $40 for adults, $25 for children (10 and under). The pit gate opens at 3:30pm, hotlaps are at 6:30pm, with racing to follow.
Friday is also Scott County Cattlemen’s Association Night at Davenport Speedway.
The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa.
