Columbus Junction, Iowa: Sinclair Tractor of Muscatine hosted the racing action on Friday night at the CJ Speedway located on the Louisa County Fairgrounds. The action was hot on a very warm mid-July Friday night.

The Stewart & Sons Fuel IMCA Modifieds feature was decided in the tech area after the feature event was run. Kurt Kile took the lead from early pace setter Scott Brau and went on to race to the checkers but his car failed tech inspection. The engine in the 77 car of Kile’s failed to meet IMCA specs as the engine seals did not pass inspection. The DQ of Kile elevated Brandon Banks to the win with first time visitor to the CJ Speedway in 2024, Zach Rawlins advancing all the way from a 10th position start to finish second at the checkers.

The Mincer Ford IMCA Stock Cars provided another exciting main event as the lead was up for grabs early before John Oliver Jr. took command as the race passed the midway point. Dan (Stumpy) Brockert and Kenny O’Donnell raced out front early as Oliver was steadily making his way to the front. Oliver started eighth with several strong contenders in front of him, once Oliver was able to move by Brockert the 05 of Oliver moved out to a comfortable lead. O’Donnell was able to race to a strong second place run ahead of Keegan Wells.

Logan Anderson scored his second feature win in a row at the the CJ Speedway in the Huston Ag IMCA Sportmod division. Anderson started deep in he field but quickly advanced to the front taking over the race lead before five laps had been completed. Anderson went on to record the win ahead of John Oliver Jr. and Sean Wyett.

Luke Phillips made another trip to the Four Corners Victory lane after taking the win in the CJ Auto Parts/NAPA Stores IMCA Hobby Stock main event. Phillips chased down race leaders Jason Schutterle and Jeremy Dooley and broke out of the pack to take the lead on lap number 9 of the 12 lap feature. The race for second was up for grabs as the father son team of the Graham’s from Brooklyn took the next two spots. The younger of the pair Bradley Graham took second ahead of his Dad Brad Graham.
