WINSTON, MO (Oct 12, 2024) – As the season gets closer and closer to coming to an end, the action on the track at I-35 Speedway continues to heat up. This past Saturday night was Scobee Powerline Night at the races, as well as our Halloween Trick or Treat for all the kids. During intermission, over 20 drivers parked on the front stretch and handed out candy to all the kids and we gave out prizes for the best costumes.
We had multiple other prize give aways to the fans tonight, including a custom I-35 Speedway croc-charm. Aside from the great turnout for the trick-or-treat, the action on track was nothing short of exciting. Ninety-Six (96) cars brought their best tonight as the racing was competitive in every class.
In the E-Mods, Casey Burnett had to hold off a charging Brett Holman to secure his 10th feature win this season, Holman would finish in 2nd. Tommy Cordray passed Tyler Hibner early in the Midwest Late Models and didn’t look back. This made it 2 wins in a row for Cordray after also winning the feature last week.
Jr. Sport Compacts had a scary moment as one of the drivers made contact with the back stretch guard rail before the car turned over multiple times. The driver was cleared by the track medical team. JR Curtis took home the victory; this was win number 2 on the season for Curtis. In the Pure Stock feature, it was a battle everywhere on the track during every lap. Mich Ross was able to secure the victory, this was win number 7 on the season for Ross.
USRA B-Mods saw Perry Milbourn Jr. collect the feature win. In his victory lane interview, Milbourn Jr. stated this was his first ever win in his racing career.
Doug Keller held strong in the USRA Stock Cars, grabbing win number 4 this season. Houston Johnson led green to checkered in the USRA A-Mods, Johnson’s 7th win this season.
And Brad Mick passed Harold Robb Jr. late in the Sport Compacts to give Mick his 10th win, this season.
Thank you to all the race fans that came out to the track tonight for another action-packed night of racing. Thank you to all the track officials, the safety crew and medical team for keeping everyone safe and the track fast all night. And a special thank you to the drivers for not only putting on a electric show on the track, but taking the time to handout candy and meet with the fans during intermission.
We will be back next Saturday night as the Heartland Modified Touring Series joins in on the action at I-35.
We will be starting at 6 p.m. next Saturday as well.
