WINSTON, MO (Aug 26, 2012) – With the rainout last night at I-35 Speedway we can turn our focus to the great points battles shaping up at the track this season and the rest of the schedule for 2012. With only four nights left to grab those IMCA and track points the drivers of I-35 Speedway are jockeying for position to grab an elusive top 10 spot. 

We start in the ultra competitive IMCA Stock Car class. Jon Boller Jr. (St. Joseph, MO) is still without a win this season yet he leads the points by 11 over another veteran Dean Wray (Jamesport, MO) who has six wins and Stock Car newcomer Bruce Fair (Trenton, MO) who has 0 wins. Fair and Wray are tied for second. The next 3 spots are made up of drivers who have visited victory lane this season Jeff Dixon (Jamesport, MO) who sits in 4th just 17 points back, Greg Keuhn (Trenton, MO) is in 5th 36 points back and defending Champion Gene Stigall (Winston, MO) is 6th 115 points behind Boller Jr. 7th spot is Pat Neely (St. Joseph, MO) 120 points behind, 8th is Jake Cameron a feature winner earlier this season but Jake is 129 points behind and he sold his car and is concentrating on coming back in the 2013 season better than ever, 9th is Jon Boller III (St. Joseph, MO) who has also won a feature but is 133 points behind his dad and in that 10th spot is Bennie Turner (Smithville, MO) 212 points back. 

In the “Border War” Grand National Class Bud Wilson (Trenton, MO) leads the points with 8 victories, 2nd place is Thomas Roberts (Kidder, MO) who sits 32 points behind the leader with 2 wins, Travis Walker (Cameron, MO) also has 2 wins sits in 3rd place in the points standings 62 points out of the lead, 4th place is another 2 time winner 14 year old Austin Johnson (Kansas City, MO) who sits 126 points back and rounding out the top 5 328 points back is Don Marrs (Shawnee, KS). The rest of the top 10 are Jason Anderson (Kansas City, MO) with 2 feature win and is 395 points back in 6th, Mike Taylor Jr. (Kansas City, MO) sits in the 7th position 592 points back and has 2 wins, Rick Steele (St. Joseph, MO) is 8th, Chris Kline (Kearney, MO) is 9th and Jim Peeler Milan, MO) is 10th. 

IMCA SportMods is led by 2 time feature winner Randy Ainsworth (Excelsior Springs, MO), Brad Whitney (Trenton, MO) has jumped into the 2nd  spot with 2 wins and sits 29 points back, Mike Tanner (Kansas City, MO) the defending Champion sits 3rd 52 points back with 2 wins as well, Jeremy Pittsenbarger (Cameron, MO) is 4th 61 points back and Dustin Miller (Pattonsburg, MO) is 5th 99 points back with 1 win. 6th position is Wes Bestgen (Osborn, MO) 113 points out of the lead, 7th is Mitch Booher (Bethany, MO) 159 points out, Ronnie Miller (Trenton, MO) is 8th, Jeff Stotts (Trenton, MO) is 9th and Lynn Starry (Excelsior Springs, MO) is 10th. 

In the IMCA Hobby Stocks Eric Stanton (Hartford, IA) looks to be on his way to another Championship as he leads Mich Ross (Maysville, MO) by 31 points and has 11 wins this season. Don’t count Ross out in 19 starts he has 18 top 10 finishes. Anthony Fletchall (Grant City, MO) sits 3rd 48 points back, Alex Anderson (Spickard, MO) has 2 wins and sits 4th just 67 points back and 5th is Lee Farmer (Bethany, MO) another 2 time winner and is 80 points back. 6th spots belongs to Andrew Hustead (Rutledge, MO) who sits 92 points back with 2 wins, Alexis Whitney is in 7th 202 points back, Billie Hoover (Stewartsville, MO) with 1 win and 237 points back is 8th, 9th is Scott Treadwell (Trenton, MO) and 10th is Dave Truskett (Cowgill, MO) 

Cory Wray (Jamesport, MO) is looking for his second straight IMCA Modified Championship at I-35 Speedway. With 3 win he leads Jason Estes (Winston, MO) by 21 points, Blake Peeler (Trimble, MO) by 68, Jim Cameron (Cameron, MO) who has 4 wins by 73 and Steven Glenn (Hamilton, MO) with 1 win by 114. The rest of the top 10 are Darren Shaw (Lathrop, MO) with 1 win is 6th place 125 points behind, Randy Smith (Hamilton, MO) is 7th, Jim Peeler (Milan, MO) is 8th, Buz Kaster (Kansas City, KS) is 9th and Hunter Marriott (Brookfield, MO) with 2 win sits 10th.

September 8th is our annual open night at I-35 Speedway while the IMCA Supernationals are taking place. This week is always an exciting one as cars from all over bring their track rules and experience what I-35 Speedway has to offer. Also Outlaw Jim and the Whiskey Benders will be there for a concert. 

Last season we debuted our Show-Me Spectacular with a good turnout, the only change this season is instead of a 2 day show its now a one day show and will take place October 6th. The Show-Me Spectacular feature the Sport/B Mods, Hobby Stocks and Stock Cars.
