Reicks, Bonnstetter collect USRA Iron Man Challenge checkers at Jackson Speedway
JACKSON, Minn. (Aug. 30) – The Industrial Material Surplus USRA Iron Man Challenge invaded the Jackson Speedway Thursday with Tory Reicks of Waucoma, Iowa, topping the USRA Stock Car main event while Josh Bonnstetter of Slayton made it two in a row in USRA B-Mod competition.
Bonnstetter, who won just 24 hours earlier and 30 miles west at the Fairmont Raceway, started on the pole and led all 12 laps to pocket his second $700 paycheck in as many nights.
Dan Paplow of Dundee claimed the runner-up spot while Jared Timmerman of Norwalk, Iowa, finished third. Lyle Sathoff of Armstrong, Iowa, and Jason Andrews of Okabena, Minn., rounded out the top 5.
From the outside of the front row, Reicks took his first Iron Man win of the year as the 2010 USRA Stock Car national champion bested polesitter Malcolm Teachout of Granada for the $1,000 top prize.
Jackson’s Luke Sathoff grabbed a third-place finish, points leader Tom Schmitt of Independence, Iowa, finished fourth and fifth went to Dan Christopher of Decorah, Iowa.
On Sunday, Sept. 2, the Industrial Material Surplus USRA Iron Man Challenge takes the spotlight at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa. USRA Stock Cars will compete for $700 to win while USRA B-Mod main event winner will pocket $500. Also on the card will be the Cornbelt Clash Late Models and Hobby Stocks racing for USRA national points. Hot laps begin at 6 p.m. with racing to follow.
