Farley’s Yankee Dirt Track Classic next destination for Deery Series, Hawkeye Dirt Tour
FARLEY, Iowa (Sept. 11) – The top-paying doubleheader of the season for two IMCA series is this weekend at Farley Speedway.
The Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models and the JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour for Modifieds headline Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15 Yankee Dirt Track Classic programs.
Friday’s Deery feature pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. The Saturday feature boasts the biggest paycheck of the 2012 series at $7,500 to win, along with a minimum of $500 to start.
Modifieds vie for $1,500 to win on Friday and $2,000 to win on Saturday. A minimum of $175 will be paid to start each night and both features are 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events.
All four events will be held on the half-mile track. Both Modified features will be 20 laps; Late Models go 50 laps on Friday and 75 laps on Saturday.
Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. both days. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.
Test and tune sessions for Late Model and Modified divisions are Thursday, Sept. 13. The top 12 drivers in Deery points in attendance that evening are eligible to compete in a $1,000 to win king of the hill duel.
Features for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are Wednesday and Thursday on the 3/8-mile oval and pay $500 to win. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks begin qualifying on Wednesday, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts on Thursday.
Features for the SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts, also on the 3/8, are on Saturday and pay $750, $500 and $400, respectively, to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded.
Grandstand admission Wednesday and Thursday is $13 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for students with ID.
Admission on Friday is $20 for adults, $16 for seniors and $13 for students. On Saturday, spectator admission is $27 for adults, $24 for seniors and $22 for students.
Kids 12 and under get into the grandstand free when accompanying a paid adult.
Pit passes are $25 on Wednesday, $30 on Thursday and Friday, and $35 on Saturday.
