HUMBOLDT, Kan. (Feb. 18) – The fourth season of the USRA Iron Man Challenge will kick off the 2013 campaign as the USRA B-Mods join the USMTS Modifieds at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., on Friday, March 8, and the Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo., on Saturday, March 9.

Both events will pay $500 to win and $75 to start the main event, with the USRA B-Mods sharing the spotlight with the USMTS Modifieds both nights.

USRA B-Mod drivers return to Humboldt two weeks later to compete all three nights during the King of America III Modified Nationals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 21-23.

The fourth season for the USRA Iron Man Challenge featuring USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods boasts 24 dates at 11 of the finest dirt ovals in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and South Dakota.

Both classes will be in action on 11 of those nights, USRA B-Mods will fly solo at 11 events and USRA Stock Cars have three dates to themselves.

Last season 360 tough-as-nails pilots took part in the Iron Man Challenge, including 86 USRA Stock Car drivers and 274 USRA B-Mod competitors.

The Iron Man Challenge will run in conjunction with the USMTS Modifieds at all but two events. It will be a Great American, all-USRA affair on the Fourth of July at the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Iowa, and the USRA Stock Cars visit the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., for the fourth and final time in 2013 when they share the race card with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Saturday, Sept. 14.

USRA Stock Cars open their 2013 campaign the following weekend, March 29-30, at the LA Raceway in La Monte, Mo., on Friday and I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., on Saturday. Both nights will also feature USRA B-Mods along with the USMTS Modifieds.

Points will be determined by the best fifteen (15) finishes for USRA B-Mods and best 10 finishes for USRA Stock Cars. To be eligible for points funds, drivers must possess a valid USRA license, utilize the American Racer KK704 racing tire on all four wheels and compete in at least half of the events for their division. Licensed USRA drivers in both classes will also earn national points in the USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Both Iron Man Challenge champions in 2013 will earn $1,500 as part of the series points fund, plus numerous contingency awards from the many generous USRA sponsors.

Tom Schmitt of Independence, Iowa, is the defending USRA Iron Man Challenge champion in the USRA Stock Car class and Trevor Hunt of Kearney, Mo., was the 2012 titlist in the USRA B-Mod division.
