Lee County’s Friday Spring Extravaganza is first IMCA event of 2013 in Iowa
DONNELLSON, Iowa (March 25) – Snow is being cleared off the track this morning (Monday), warmer temperatures are in the forecast and the first IMCA event of 2013 in Iowa will be held this Friday, March 29 at Lee County Speedway.
The Spring Extravaganza at Donnellson is headlined by a $1,000 to win feature for IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds.
The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier is joined by IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods running for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $300 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $200 to win.
Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing starts at 7:15 p.m. More information is available from promoter Mike Van Genderen at 641 521-0330. Any driver running late that afternoon can call the same number and the track will draw for them.
Entry fees are $30 for Modifieds, $25 for Stock Cars and Northern SportMods, $20 for Hobby Stocks and $15 for Sport Compacts. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $6 for students ages 7-17, and free for six and under. Pit passes are $25.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded.
