America’s favorite motorsports magazine makes the first of two planned stops at the popular Iowa oval April 26th.
Fremont, N.H.. April 21, 2013 – Speedway Illustrated, in its 13th year of publishing the finest editorial content to help all enjoy the sport more, especially racers who want be faster, race safer, and save money is headed to Marshalltown, Iowa on April 26th.
“Last year, Eric Dailey drove our pavement modified in New Hampshire,” said publisher Karl Fredrickson. “He was brilliant. We had such a good time.
A few weeks ago, I received a surprise phone call from Dailey inviting me to come drive his car. I can’t wait.”Fredrickson runs most of his races on pavement and it’s been since 2005 since Fredrickson raced on Iowa dirt, but that was a memorable outing. “I was the inaugural SportMod champion at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals,” he said, before adding, “I was probably the most surprised winner in the event’s history, too.” He’s not expecting the same type of outcome.
“There are so many great racers in all divisions at Marshalltown, I don’t think anyone could simply expect to do well there. A weekly A-mod feature at Marshalltown is like an All-Star invitational at other tracks.
”Traveling and climbing into different race cars provides Fredrickson and the rest of the magazine’s editorial team that includes Bones Bourcier, Joyce Standridge, Mike Adaskaveg, J.A. Ackley, Dan Anderson, and the magazine’s founder and namesake, Dick Berggren, unmatched perspective on the sport. It’s why Tony Stewart said,
“When you look at the names of the people involved in that magazine, you’re talking about a staff that knows this sport from top to bottom because they’ve been around it so long. They’ve been into racing all their lives, and they have a passion for it. In fact, I’d say the depth of knowledge you find in that staff is pretty much unparalleled.
“And what I especially like is, these are people who know this sport, and care about this sport, from the very top – from the Sprint Cup series and Indy cars – right down to the short tracks.”Carl Edwards summed Stewart’s points by simply saying, “It is the best racing magazine on the planet.
”This is the first of two planned stops by the magazine at Marshalltown this year. “We’ll be back for the World Nationals in September,” said Fredrickson. “We are awarding a major advertising contract, valued at over $10,000 to the builder of the winning modified engine. That’s one of the biggest races of the year nationwide!” Free sample issues of Speedway Illustrated will be available both days while they last.
