Cameron Auto Repair Night at the Races
WINSTON, MO (June 1, 2013) – A familiar scene in victory lane was Bud Wilson #75 picking up win number five in the Grand National feature. Don Marrs #9 would lead early to come home second place while Travis Walker #71 would finish third. Austin Johnson #98 overcame an early race spin to fourth with Marty Powell #9p fifth.
Second to take to the 3/8 mile track was the Show-Me Vintage Racers with #7 Shane Wilson driving his way to victory. Second place would go to Jim Clevenger #76 with John Steenstry #22 third. Rounding out the top five was #711 of Brian Strong fourth and Lane Walker #6 fifth.
As usual the IMCA Stock cars were evenly matched and put on yet another spectacular race, with veteran Dean Wray #77 picking up his first win of the season. With trouble and trips to the hot lane, Jake Cameron #86c battled back to a second place finish with Gene Stigall #20 a close third. Starting from a rear position Shawn Lee #4d raced to a fourth place finish and Shane Florence #41 rounding out the top five.
In another caution plagued IMCA Sport Mod feature the familiar face of Nick Roberts #23jr would claim the top spot with Randy Ainsworth #57 finishing second. An impressive run by Josh Steele #94j would place him third, Tony Manly #3x fourth, and point leader Jeremy Pittsenbarger #32p fifth.
Next to the track where the always fast and exciting IMCA Modifieds racing side by side from start to finish. Cory Wray #69n charged to the front of the pack early and would be challenged almost every lap by Steven Glenn #26s and Buz Kaster #54, yet Wray would hold off all contenders for the win. Glenn would end up second with Kaster third. Point leader P.J. Conger #19 continued his consistent season with a solid fourth place run and Jeff Marriott #56 would finish fifth.
Ending the nights racing action were the IMCA Hobby Stocks. Treating the fans to a post-race burnout for the second week in a row was feature winner Lee Farmer #17f. Mich Ross #34 raced his way to the second position with rookie contender Cody Doolittle #5 finishing third. Jeremy Turner #55L placed fourth while the #x9 of Bryce Whitney posted his first top five finish of his young career.
I-35 Speedway would like to thank our loyal fans for braving the elements in another night of exciting racing action. Look forward to seeing everyone again next week for “Dirt Trackin’ at its best.”
