Ainsworth, Cameron and Marriott taste victory for the first time in 2012 at I-35 Speedway!

WINSTON, MO (May 19, 2012) – Coming into this evenings racing event at I-35 Speedway the IMCA Northern SportMod class has produced five different winners in five different weeks, after tonight make that six! Randy Ainsworth (Excelsior Springs) picked up his first win of the 2012 season. Ainsworth has had a string of bad luck this season but finally looks like his luck has turned around. “The one armed bandit” Brett Shields (Mt. Ayr, Iowa) followed Ainsowrth across the line in second, Truman Asher (St. Joseph) was third, Jeremy Pittsenbarger (Cameron) finished fourth and Brad Whitney (Trenton) just nipped Nic Hanes at the line for fifth. Nic Hanes (Trenton) won the hard charger award.
Jake Cameron (Winston) got by Jon Boller III half way through then had to hold off a hungry Jeff Dixon to win his second IMCA Stock Car feature in two seasons. Cameron had a fast car all night and had great battles throughout the race but eventually pulled away. Jeff Dixon (Jamesport) had his best run of the season finishing second. Jon Boller Jr. (St. Joseph) had his string of bad luck snapped with a good showing in third place, three time feature winner Dean Wray (Jamesport) had his string of three consecutive wins snapped and finished fourth and Shane Florence (Plattsburg) finished fifth. Wray did take home the hard charger award.
Jason Anderson (Kansas City, Missouri) picked up win number two on the season in the “Border War” Grand National Class. Anderson had a great battle with Bud Wilson, Travis Walker and Thomas Roberts through the whole fifteen lap feature. At the end Anderson would hold off Bud Wilson (Trenton), Travis Walker (Cameron), Don Marrs (Shawnee, Kansas), and Thomas Roberts (Kidder). Anderson would also win his third hard charger of the season. The “Border War Bonus” with I-35 Speedway and Lakeside Speedway returns for the 2012 season. If a driver pulls off a Friday night win at Lakeside and a Saturday night win at I-35 or a Saturday night win at I-35 and a win the next Friday at Lakeside that drivers wins a bonus and if a fan that attends both events keeps their ticket for both events and returns them with name, address and phone number then that fan will be registered to win a prize courtesy of McCarthy Chevrolet!
Eric Stanton (Hartford, Iowa continues his hot streak racking up his fourth win in a row in the IMCA Hobby Stocks. Stanton had a side by side battle with early leader Lee Farmer (Bethany) for most of the race before Stanton found his high line and flew to his fourth win of the season. Lee Farmer finished second, Mich Ross (Maysville) finished third, Scott Treadwell (Trenton) finished fourth and Anthony Fletchall finished fifth. Stanton took home the hard charger.
Hunter Marriott (Brookfield) took over the lead on a restart from Jim Hopkins and took his second win in two seasons in the IMCA Modified class. Marriott only making his fourth start of the season made it his best start. Shay Woods (Humeston, Iowa) had a great last few laps and came home second, Hopkins (Raymore) led the most laps came home third, Perry Milbourne (St. Joseph) was fourth and Jim Peeler (Milan) fifth. Todd Wilson took home the hard charger.
