Bub McCool Wins Fourth Event of 2012; Set to Resume WoO Rookie Campaign
VICKSBURG, MS (May 22, 2012) – Bub McCool made the last minute decision to enter a $2,500-to-win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event on Saturday night to shake down his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi), and it would prove to be a great decision as he claimed his fourth win of the 2012 season!
Thirty-three competitors were on hand for the event, and McCool began the night by qualifying third fastest in his group to lock into the fifth starting spot for the pole-sitter’s dash. After advancing to a fourth place finish in the dash Bub earned the fourth starting spot for the main event. In the 50 lap feature McCool would waste little time working his way to the front of the pack as a lap 2 restart saw Bub racing past leader, Rick Rickman, to take over the top spot. Once out front McCool would never look back on his way to the win, which came over Scott Dedwylder, Chad Thrash, Clint Smith, and Jason Cliburn. This weekend, May 25th-27th, Bub will return to the World of Outlaws trail with a trio of events. McCool heads into the weekend leading the tour’s rookie of the year standings and is fifth in the overall points, just 180 points removed from the lead. Action opens on Friday night with a $10,000-to-win program at NAPA Wayne County Speedway (Orrville, Ohio). On Saturday evening the brand-new, Bullring Bonanza will be held at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, West Virginia) with a $25,000 winner’s check on the line and over $50,000 in prizes going home with lucky fans. The weekend will conclude on Sunday evening at the recently renovated and reopened I-77 Speedway (Fair Plain, West Virginia) with a $10,000-to-win feature.
