Club members of the Lil' Racer Car Club! Looking forward to another night of exciting racing action on the big 1/2 mile? Should be a very warm night of racing this week, make sure you try to stay cool and that you drink plenty of water to keep from feeling sick. Lots of fun things are planned again this week! We have the school bus packing the track and you are welcomed to ride along. A great way for you to see the pits from all different angles. Last week we had 2 bus loads of fans make the trip. I would go along but the bus would get stuck. We have the third running of the gunny sack races. Eight lucky kids between the ages of 7-9 get a chance to scoot down the track for the money!

Tonight is also the first running of the Lil' Racer Car Club's version of Boxcar Races! 4 different age groups, a pit stop, a fuel stop, and a chance at a trophy will keep everyone on the edge of their seats! Make sure you bring your cameras to catch a shot of this fun racing action! A chance for the Lil' Racers to be Big Racers!

Lil' Racer Car Club would like to thank Kevin and Carrie Feller from the Quad Cities for their generous support of this activity.

Upcoming Events for the Lil' Racers include the 2nd Annual West Liberty Pool Party, Our Get Wet Night, Race Car Roundup, and the special event inm July, on the 28th, Speedway Fire and Rescue's Demonstration and Show for the Lil' Racer Car Club. Club members! Looking forward to a night of exciting racing action at West Liberty Raceway after taking the week of due to the weather. I have been on a never-ending search for those elusive prizes to be given away. Prizes that you would not normally get under your Christmas tree. Well, the wait is over! I will be giving away a few different, and I mean different, prizes to some lucky club members. Make sure you are registered this week for your chance at these great items! I have five (5) pooping pig key chains and two squawking rooster slingshots. And, yes, they do squawk as they can fly over 50 feet in the air.I know, everyone will want one of these, but you must be registered for your chance to get one.

For the West Liberty Raceway faithful- does your city, town, or village in which you reside have that special gift that would be representative of where you live and one that would be age appropriate for a youngster between the ages of 0-14? would you or your town be willing to donate one to the Lil' racer Car Club so that I can include it in the next night's drawings? If so, let me know or bring it to the booth and I will be sure to announce you, your town, and the item donated during our sponsor announcements. This would be a great way for your hometown to be recognized at West Liberty Raceway! I came from a town called " Marble Rock" located near Mason City, Iowa a town of 300 hearty souls and we had t-shirts, and if that is what your town has too, bring it down. Anything that advertises where you are from and/or about.

This week we begin the coloring contest. We will be coloring school buses, not pictures of race cars. For those of you who come to WLR, we have a school bus that picks up fans at the track gate before hot laps begin, and lets the average fan, both old and young alike, help pack the track. Last race night, we loaded the bus twice! I am shooting for three times this week. The bus is due for some sprucing up, so the kids can give us some ideas on what they may like it to look like. I like the Partridge Family bus theme, but I am an ole guy!Any older club members or fans with an interest in computer graphics, go ahead and see what you can do. Just take a picture of a 54-passenger school bus and give it some snazzy look.

Taylor and Kevin Brockert were co-winners last week due to a small snafu by yours truly and are looking forward to the picture in the pits with their favorite driver. It works out okay though because they both have the same favorite. Look forward to their picture right here on Heartlandmotorsports.com

Until next time, see you at the track! Mitch swinton, Lil' Racer Car Club INC.

Hey Kids! Herky had a great time at the track last week and they hope that next week he can stay even longer. The 2nd round of gunny sack racing will happen this week. Club members, if you are 7,8,9 years old and want to participate, sign the sheet at the booth when you come down to register. All club members are invited to take a sheet of cardstock paper and draw, design and color a picture or scene of your favorite West Liberty driver! These pictures will be posted on the inside wall of the track. All members who turn in a BANNER will receive a prize. Coloring contest pictures for the younger kids will be handed out next week. Boxcar races are tenatively scheduled to begin on June 9th, so you still have time to get that boxcar done. Rules are available at the booth. If you need ideas on how your boxcar should look, stop by and check out the photos that Kevin and Carey Feller let me borrow. Any adults want to create and race a boxcar, let me know. Maybe the moms of the members who create a boxcar could run a powderpuff race? Looking forward to another exciting night of racing at West Liberty Raceway! Come and join us!!!
