WINSTON, MO (August 24, 2024) – Another action-packed night at the races brought out a ton of cars and a packed grandstand. With 104 total cars, we had fast racing in every class this past Saturday night. I-35 Speedway experienced an unexpected rain storm early Saturday morning, but the outstanding hard working track crew still was able to get the track race-ready and get the action started on time. We also handed out some awesome prizes to a few fans who answered our track trivia questions.

Moving into the racing action, Casey Burnett powered the high-side to collect his 7th feature win in the E-Mods, outlasting the charging Tony Layne. In the Pure Stock feature race, it was never short of excitement. Jakub Hisel, also using the high-side of the track powered his way into victory lane, This was win number 7 this season for Hisel. Hisel also received an ovation from the crowd during his victory lane interview after stating “If you don’t like that kinda racing, you’re in the wrong place.” Clayton Stuckey traveled all the way from Shreveport, Louisiana to collect the Midwest Late Model feature win over Arizona driver Steve Stultz.

Grant Sheetz used his front row starting spot to win the Jr. Sport Compact Feature race. Sheetz entered the night 2nd in points trailing point leader Emma Mather by 27 points. No one could catch Shadren Turner in the USRA B-Mods, Turner also started on the front row in his feature race. Chris Dishong goes back-to-back in USRA Stock Cars, outlasting multiple fast cars throughout the night. Tyler Hibner also found himself in victory lane again in the USRA Modifieds, this was Hibner’s 14th feature win in the Modifieds for Hibner this season. And finally, Eric Schmidt waited for the right time to go in the Sport Compacts to collect his first feature win this season at I-35 Speedway.

Thank you to all the race fans for coming out to the track and bringing the energy throughout the night. Thank you to all the drivers for putting on a great show in every class and bringing your best to the track every Saturday night. And a huge thank you to all of our track officials for prepping and maintaining a tough track to deal with, but with everyone’s help it was a fast track all night long. And a final huge thank you to our safety crew for keeping everyone as safe as possible throughout the night.

We will be back next Friday night for a special racing night, which will include the 410 POWERi Outlaw Sprint Cars, as well as the USRA Modifieds, E-Mods and Pure Stocks! We will also race next Saturday night for the Mike Knight Memorial race with all of our weekly racing classes.
