Bethany Speedway And Back to School
Bethany Speedway And Back to School
July 4-Bethany Speedway presented Back to School Night, with backpacks full of school supplies for the kids. With all the donations and support there were over 150 backpacks to give out. Thank you to all who donated.
The races were also a big success with a fast track, not much dust and side by side racing action. New drivers and cars maybe getting some seat time for the Northwest Missouri State Fair coming up in just a few weeks.
The Emod class took to the feature lineup first. #14H Blake Hayes, who won the last race, took the lead on the first lap and went on to win his second in a row n looks like the guy to beat right now. #16 Brian Dultmeier made his first appearance at Bethany Speedway and made sure everybody knew he was there by finishing second. Third thru fifth were full of top five regulars. #Y2K Coleman Browning, #11M Lane Mathews and #16E Johnny Eads.
Pure Stocks has seen #11J Jake Starmer be the dominate car early in the season. But #15 Ed Noll kept getting closer to the front. This week, for the second week in a row he took the checkered. #55T Mich Ross finished second. Starmer third. #4B Jarrold Burns was fourth and #17c Alvie Christofferson seems to always find himself in the top five, again with a fifth place finish.
The Bmod class has had a variety of names on the win list this year. And added another name to that list Saturday. And a couple new names in the top five. #69er Tyler Cadwallader has been MIA for a couple races. But made his return with a statement being made to the rest of the field. Cadwallader took the checkered for his first win of the season at Bethany. Last weeks feature winner, #27 Tyler O’Neal drifted back but rebounded late with another strong run to finish second. #52B Brandon Barnes has also started showing some strength with third. Two new top five finishers were #49D Doug Heimbaugh fourth and #65K Scott Kunze.
The Stock Cars were loaded with new name cars, faces and names. And they came to play. #29 Dennis Elliot, who knows his way around Bethany Speedway very well, took the checkered by holding off a hard charging #34x Justin Custer. #37 Randy Foote had a pong winning streak ended with a third place finish. #96 Clinton Goff finished fourth in his first appearance. #11 of Clayon Brown, fifth, in his second appearance of the year.
The Compacts had one of their biggest car counts of the season. #9x Samuel Moore has his eye on a championship as he has won three in a row now. Finishing in second, right behind him last week, was #76B Johnathon Hartman, for the second week in a row. #35 Chris Wright, #25 Conner Rigsby and #5J Jeremy Sims finished third thru fifth.
Next race, August 17, will be the kids coin drop. Hundreds of dollars of quarters will be dropped in front of the grandstands. Kids will pick up as many as they can. It’s a site to see.
It will also be the last race before the Northwest Missouri State Fair Races on September 1st and 2nd. So we are expecting some new cars and drivers trying to get some seat time on the track before the fair races.
