Big Money at the Northwest Missouri State Fair Races on Labor Day Weekend
Bethany, Mo (August 17, 2014) – The 2014 Northwest Missouri State Fair has put up the biggest purse in the history of the fair. The 98th annual fair will feature racing on Sunday (Aug 31st) and Monday (Sept 1st) nights.
Sunday nights racing with feature the Show-Me Vintage Racers making their second straight appearance. After last year when one of the vintage cars took a tumble, all the talk has been about the Vintage class. They Vintage Racers are ready to put on another great show.
Also on Sunday will be the All-Star Midgets making their first ever appearance at the fair races. The Midgets will renew a 25 year old East-West challenge for $1000.
Sunday night races will rap up with the Limited Modified class. USRA & IMCA SportMod rules will apply, also ACR (Atchison County Raceway). If your track rules are compatible with any of those you will be legal to run. The weight limit will be in affect & scales will be used. Crate motors are allowed to use 4 barrel carburetors. The Limited Modified feature will pay $1000 to win. The feature will be 30 laps. Many sponsors have added money to pay the leader of each lap $20 per lap. The hard charger in the feature will go to the driver that gains the most spots from the original lineup to the finish & pay $100. And finally, all heat winners will be paid $30 for winning.
Then return on Labor Day, Monday night, to rap up the fair with 3 more classes of racing.
The Emods (Economy Mods) will kick off the show. The Emods are the newest and quickest growing class right now. It’s a spec modified. Check ACR or I-35 Speedway for rules.
Also Monday, the Stock Cars will put on a great show. USRA & IMCA rules will apply, along with ACR, Valley Speedway & CMS rules. All weight limits will apply according to your track rules. Motors may be set back according to Valley & CMS rules but you have to meet the weight limit to match. The biggest exception is all Stock Cars will run a 2 barrel carburetor, 500 cfm or smaller. Absolutely NO 4 barrel carbs. The Stock feature will be 20 laps long & pay $700 to win. More sponsors have put up extra money for each lap, $10 per lap. $50 hard charger payout & $20 to each heat winner.
And finally, The “High Flyin” A mods will round out the 2014 Northwest Missouri State Fair. The final decision was made to pay $2000 to win. USRA & IMCA Modified rules apply. And again, more sponsors stepped up to throw in extra money. The feature will be 30 laps & pay $30 per lap to the lap leader. Which could mean an additional $900 total if they could lead all 30 laps. The hard charger in the Modified class will pay $150 & every heat winner will be paid $50.
Top 5 finishers will be teched in every class & if a driver is found illegal they will be DQed. If you have any questions about rules or anything you can contact Jon Boller Jr at 816-752-3645 or Chet Querry at 660-373-2357.
