Final Modified qualifier falls to Bushore

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 7) – Joel Bushore will return to the front row of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals main event, after winning his Friday night Modified qualifying feature.

Bushore passed race long leader Chad Porter with three circuits left in the 25-lapper. Both drivers maintained control after contact the next time around, then Bushore pulled ahead in the race to the checkers.

Lining up behind Bushore and Porter on the outside row will be Brandon Beckendorf, Mark Elliott, Matt Bonine, Chris Fleming, Chevy Hadan and Jeff Stephens.

Porter drew the pole start and brought Beckendorf and Bushore along in checking out on the field by midway. Bushore passed both Porter and Beckendorf with what played out to be the winning move.

The second and final caution of the night came out on lap nine so the contest ended with a lengthy green flag run.

Elliott had raced from 28th to second in the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitation race earlier in the evening. He advanced 10 spots to finish fourth in the qualifier and advance to his seventh consecutive Modified main event.

Hadan is in for the third time, Bonine Bushore and Stephens each for the second. Porter, Fleming and Beckendorf are each first-time qualifiers.
