Carl Moyer purchases JR Motorsports
ANKENY, Iowa (April 12, 2012) – The JR Motorsports team is proud to announce that Carl Moyer has purchased the Ankeny-based company effective April, 2012.
As a racer himself, Moyer brings an intense passion for the high performance industry and complements one of the most knowledgeably assembled teams in the nation.
“Personally, I’m a fierce competitor and have enjoyed success in a number of drag racing series, and currently race weekly in the DTRA Truck Series. Racing runs deep in our family as my nephew, Billy Moyer, has become one of the greatest Late Model racers of all time,” Moyer commented.
Moyer is familiar with the history of JR Motorsports and understands the importance of supporting racers throughout the entire country.
“Over the years, you’ve come to expect great service and quality products from the JR Motorsports team, characteristics that will continue to improve in the years to come,” he promised. “We are excited to expand on all facets of the organization, including machinist operations and Victory Chassis fabrication.”
“The same great team of managers will continue to be there to take care of racers’ daily needs, and our parts trailers will be servicing the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway, Marshalltown Speedway and Boone Speedway on a weekly basis during the 2012 season,” he added. “Over the next few months we will continue to provide announcements on upcoming events and improvements to the JR Motorsports organization.
Moyer established Karl Chevrolet, an automotive dealership now ranking among the top five GM new car dealerships in the nation, in 1978.
“Add to that the fact that we have been the number one Chevrolet certified pre-owned dealer in the nation for the past six years and it’s easy to see the level of dedication and commitment we continue to give each and every customer on a daily basis,” Moyer said.
JR Motorsports is in its 14th season as a marketing partner with IMCA and is title sponsor of the Hawkeye Dirt Tour for Modifieds.
Karl Chevrolet is title sponsor of IMCA’s Northern SportMod division and expanded its contingency award program this season to include IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.
