Changes at Bethany Speedway 2020
A few changes will come to Bethany Speedway in 2020 as we invite the IMCA Wing Sprint Cars to the schedule to go with the always exciting IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, E-Modifieds and Pure Stocks. We will have a food truck on sight for concessions and the pit concession will be in operation.
We at Bethany Speedway would like to thank our great Sponsors for 2020 which include Toot Toot Family Restaurant and Lounge, Advanced Tire and Mechanical, Pettijohns Auto Sales with locations in Bethany and Albany, X-Factor Motorsports, NAPA Racing Auto Parts (in the pits each race with all the parts your car will ever need), Banging Bodies by Walker, Querry Trucking, Reemers Designs, HyVee Grocery, Boller Motorsports, Lake Road Warehouse, Judy Staley Photography and El Napol Restaurant
Another change to Bethany will be at Director of Racing Operations as Jon has passed the torch to me, Rick Staley. Bekki will still be Race Director, Chad will still be Flagman, as we welcome Barb Chapman as additional Scorer, Chet on the Mic and Intermission Entertainment Activities, Mitch as Tech Leader and our outstanding crew in the infield.
A few things I want to stress upon taking this position, I will still announce some and will be very involved in all racing operations. Bekki, Chad and our infield workers will make the on-track calls, not me. Driver’s meetings are mandatory, any driver not attending will start in the rear of their heat race (roll call may occur in a different class each race). We ask that all cars participate in track packing, remember drivers, it is your track to race on and I intend to start the races on time. If B-Features or Qualifiers are required they will be ran immediately following our short Intermission. Intermission will be after the final heat race and will last 10 minutes with a maximum of 15 minutes with all track officials back in position and the first feature inline.
I am very accessible at the track, if a problem arises approach me the way you would want to be approached and we will discuss the situation as I will only discuss with the driver. We will either solve the situation or agree to disagree.
All situations at the track stop with me, Do Not go to Jon, Chet or the Fair Board Members as it all comes to me! I’m not perfect and will make mistakes but will be fair, honest and consistent. When we leave the track on Saturday Night, that race is over, probably will never be changed so complaining during the week and FB bashing will do absolutely no good, as I said, it stops with me.
I want to thank Beth and Jon Boller and the Northwest Fair Board for this opportunity and let’s all work together to make 2020 the very best and Bethany Speedway the very best.
Sincerely and Thank You,
Rick
